Been raining a lot around here so haven't ridden much. Finally got out today and ended up doing about 60 miles... I hurt, but its a good hurt.

I'll be riding again tomorrow morning.

A few pics from yesterday at Miller's. The grey light was giving my camera fits yesterday; most of what I got was way too dark. Not a single shot of myself.

Eli was killing things out there, for a fairly new rider, on unfamiliar trails.

This could have sucked, but he saved it.

Rode the Forest Hill Divide loop today with a couple friends. We were hoping for more mud than what we found but still had a good time.

We did a little exploring off the trail and found this sweet sign.

And a picture on the beach we found too.

Thunder Mountain (8587')...looking towards Baldy Bowl

Fire road goes to summit. Steep, loose in some of the swithchbacks. Climb was about 4500' gain from the Village.

Lift from summit down to Baldy Notch

Ski patrol hut. No one up here today...they haven't started making snow. Warm (70) and zero wind. Nice climb.

Had a nice 12 mile ride on some single track with lots of creek crossings and a few nasty climbs through root infested rock gardens, one of which left me on my back. I went to pop my front tire over a root sticking about 8" out of the ground not realizing my back tire was on the top side of a root itself. So when the front tire came off the ground the back tire slid down and I went over backwards. I felt like an idiot but it was fun.
The only pic I got of the trail since I was having too much fun riding

Aftermath pics of my two babies!

Conditions: Muddy, wet, rained all day
Light: None
Equipment: NightHawk Raptor...battery pack shot...make-shift pack with 8AA NiMh
Backup: Cheap'o WalMart 3xAAA flashlight...and a zip tie

I hit the trail a little before 7:00 tonight. It was slicker'n snot, man The Smallblock8 on the rear didn't help matters any, but the Nevegal up front stuck pretty well. Wet roots/wet leaves/soupy mud...you name it. About 7:40, my "make-shift" battery pack gave up and hung me out to dry. I was pretty stoked to have the little Wally flashlight to get me out of the woods. Heck, it did so well...I went and did another short loop until a little after 8:00.

RAWK!!

Crappy, over contrasted phone pic's:

Rode boyette on Monday, brought my phone with me since I was riding by myself and snapped a couple of pics while I was out there. Weather was great, kind-of cool, overcast but no rain, trails were dry, turned out to be a great ride.

12.54 of dirt on the Mormon Tea, Bur Sage Loop. Just when I was thinking I was so cool for being out so early, three WOW women came jogging up a trail I reserve for downhill on the weekends. That is the second time I have experienced this magical moment. The trail has a loop that accesses the Anthem Country Club. They had to be trophy wives or something. I gotta trade my BB8830 for a camera phone.

After enjoying the view on a double track climb out, having enjoyed the view from the back as long as possible, I passed. A black haired ponytail commented, its an uphill or you would never get past us. She might be right. A hottie with attitude, double fun.

We were crusing down a trail and he was coming up. He was motoring and wasn't even trying(no even close to breathing hard. He had a big smile on his face and was the first to say "howdy". Spoke to everyone that was with me with a big smile. I was thinking " I know him from somewwhere" and Hambone's wife says "that was Hincapie". I can tell you this, there was no way I was gonna be able to run him down for a pic.He just lives down the moutain in Greenville S.C. about 30 min. away.
