I didn't want to start a whole thread for this question.
Is there a easy way to take off the dork disc? After a year, i think im ready to not be dork. Ive been trying to cut it off, but its right behind the cassette and i dont want to damage it.

Dannihilator 03-23-09 08:34 PM

Just break it off, they are cheap enough to replace if you change your mind.

dminor 03-23-09 11:48 PM

If it's not briitle enough to break off yet, use diagonals (small bites - -slow but sure) or aviation snips.

My LBS in Georgia took mine off when I brought my bike in for a fine tuning before my first big race.
He was like well since your racing take this off. lol.

Alright. I just need thinner scissors or pliers. Im just worried the cassette might bend.

Dannihilator 03-24-09 06:22 PM

Well, pretty much for the rest of the riding season I'll be walking with a limp. Have a slight cartilage tear in my right ankle.

born2bahick 03-24-09 07:58 PM

Jeez dude, the season just started. You want it all and you want now, don't chu? You gotta learn to relax, start slow, take a hit off that doobie and mellow. He He

I didn't hurt it riding either, it's been bugging me for a few weeks.

What's up Shane? How did you hurt yourself?

Dannihilator 03-24-09 08:22 PM

I'm really not sure.

born2bahick 03-24-09 08:24 PM

At my age I understand that, but..... your still young?

Dannihilator 03-24-09 08:32 PM

29 in April.

I may have done something to it when clearing snow.

ed 03-24-09 09:09 PM

I'll be wearing black tomorrow :(

Dannihilator 03-24-09 09:32 PM

What happened Ed?

ed 03-24-09 09:42 PM

Just mourning the early injury...sux for you dood.

Other'n that...I'm great.

santiago 03-25-09 07:13 AM

My right knee and right ankle continuously bother me very likely due to earlier injuries. I'm also pushing 40, which doesn't help.

dminor 03-25-09 10:12 AM

^^ You're too young to be falling apart!

ed 03-25-09 10:25 AM

He just doesn't have 8" of squish under him to cushion that bike path like you, D.

Hey, I don't always have that under me - - sometimes I'm on 6"; and sometimes I'm battling the other Wed. night one-lappers on one of those skinny-tired abominations :).

Dannihilator 03-25-09 07:37 PM

It happens, it's not stopping me from riding though, since I'm noticing most of the pain when riding the mtb with clipless, I put the platforms back on and it was a lot less painful. On the road with the clipless it really didn't bother me much so I should be good to go there.

Speaking of ankles. I have been messing around on a 20 i got for cheap, jumping stairs and stuff. Went out today and sessioned a couple of stair gaps for about an hour and a half. I got cocky and went for distance and was hauling balls and kinda forgot how twitch 20s can be. I went down hard before I even got to the stairs. I have to pretty gnarly gashes on my right ankle and both of them are swollen. Ill see if i can get a pic up.

Some friends and I got a bike out of one of their trash cans and I tocoed a wheel trying a bunny hop to fish tail. Good times, good times.

First time I test rode a bmx at the bike shop, I liked to broke my neck just playing with a speed bump.
The shorter the wheel base, the faster things can go to hell.

yellowjeep 03-28-09 02:11 PM

It sure is fun though.

Edit: basically all of my foot that can be seen in the picture is now some hue of purple or green. I'll spare you all.
