Bikes: too many to list

my 2019 Stumpjumper Comp Carbon 29
did some upgrades because I figure I'll be seeing lots of these on the trails and I can't be caught at the dance wear the same dress as someone else
(also to discourage theft because this stuff is pretty unique)
I have to say this bike has changed my life... coming from a Cannondale XC Hardtail Lefty this thing is the definition of FUN
Got it the first day they were available..... have over 300 trail miles and can't get enough (work keeps getting the way of me riding!)

Threw on an ENVE carbon bar for some bling..... then on my shop's recommendation I ordered some Onyx hubs (they will also etch your logo on them so I opted for DickButt) to lace to some Stan's Sentry hoops (painted by local lowrider legend Sic713)
SO my wheels are pretty out there
Crazy thing about the hubs is they are completely silent with INSTANT engagement.... they are amazing to ride

Nothing special but I love riding this bike. I haven't touched my road bike in over a year.

Bikes: TRIMMED DOWN THE HERD

My latest addition that I got as a freebie a few weeks ago: 2011 Fuel EX 8. My first full suspension ever. Went through the bike today and it's just about ready to go other than I'm waiting for a bottle cage. Replaced the saddle and added a splash guard. Can't wait to ride!

I’m starting to notice just now that I have a few MTN rigs.
First MTN bike (26er) I purchased new.Converted to an ebike. This bike was a tank hence the reason for converting it.

Second MTN/XCM4 purchased new. This bike is nice and rides good.

Third MTN 29er purchased new.Great ride and once you get it rolling.....Nice.

Fourth MTN/Gravel Grinder purchased new. This bike rides great.(barrowed stock photo)

My fifth MTN bike (27.5er) purchased new I use to ride around town.(barrowed stock photo).Don’t have to pay outta your nose for a great bike.

Sixth MTN/VNTG purchased used and becoming my favorite of all time.

here is my 2 most recent rig. only picked the kona up this morning. seems to work perfectly other than the tires possibly having slow leak. i don't know if that is true or not but that is what the person i bought it from told me. the norco i have had for a month. it is ok but definitely do not liking the single speed. thinking about selling or maybe trading it for something else. it really sucks trying to replace a bike that is almost perfect for you but i guess someone must have needed it more than me since they stole it off my side deck. i hate thief's.

Bikes: I honestly don't know...

1997 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 Pro

I purchased this bike in March 1997 at Wheel & Sprocket. I paid $1500 for it, and I thought I had a pretty cool green bike. I've had red bikes before, a chrome and blue one, including an awesome hot pink 1988 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model. Anyway, like the rest of my bikes, I started changing things around and sold or traded most of the components.

Here's the bike in front of the old Sprocket store in Hales Corners, where I bought it. The store is closed now, since they opened a new one in Franklin.

As I'll show you, the original bike had a Specialized Stout front hub with a great through the hub skewer, which looks far different than the newer through-skewer hubs. The rear hub was a Shimano XT M737A for an 8 speed. I don't remember how many spokes it had, but my guess, it was 32 holes.

The current set of wheels feature a Phil Wood Classic hub with 135mm spacing, black Wheelsmith spokes laced on a 36 hole Araya RM-20 rim.

The front wheel features a Shimano m900 XTR 36h hub, matching RM-20 Araya rim and black Wheelsmith spokes.

Here's some more on the Specialized M2 Pro:

Specialized had many Ritchey components on this bike, including a Ritchey Force Lite bar, Ritchey Logic pedals in red, and a Nitto\Ritchey seatpost. But over the years almost all of them were thrashed beyond repair.

This is what sold me; a M950 Shimano XTR Rear Derailleur. The bike had an XTR rear mech and an XT Front mech that clamped on the seat tube.

Specialized had this great Son of Strong Arm Crankset, which I sold. Later, I found this M952 five arm XTR on eBay. I thought the five arm looked better.

I learned a lot about this bike as well as myself, after changing so many components over the years. I'll probably never sell the bike, but being over 20 years old now (!!), it's getting harder to find good components for it.
You know, I'm surprised there aren't that many talking about 90's Stumpjumpers. Maybe these photographs might change that. Thanks.

I've got a bunch of the old 8-9 speed XTR stuff in my basement, even the old Rapid-rise, remote shifter, 4-arm cranks.. XTR stuff... some NOS still in box.
Let me know if you're looking for replacement parts.
