The equivalent 110 mm travel traditional fork is around two or more pounds heavier. Once I got use to the more precise and accurate turning, I don't want to go back to an old traditional fork.

Thank you for the comments. I love the bike!

Thanks for the info, i'm really considering going single sided suspension on my PUSS... rigid fork is just too much for my wrists to handle on rough terrain.

Definitely changed the look of the bike completely, i really like it

nice.... there's just something about the lefty which is hard to describe. you have to ride it to know. i have a 2009 F2 fitted with a speed DLR, but i upgraded it to a lefty max carbon. originally thought that the geometry might be odd but turns out to be pretty ok (mine is an L size frame with a flatbar)

Have you compared the precision to something like a PIKE or other 20mm TA fork?

craigcraigcraig 10-28-10 09:15 AM

i always just picture the wheel tearing off in something like a 4cross race or an otb crash. has a cool look to it, although that is an unstable and awkward look.

Bought this for a fair price the other day and it's due to get here on monday :)

It "seems" like it could until you think about that same one-sided design being on each corner of the car you drive.

I don't think that it "needs" to be supported on both sides...though I think there is a reason they don't build a LeftyFR180.:D

Johnny Law 10-28-10 11:38 AM

when are they going to start making lefty carbon road bike forks?

I have not personally. The information that I gave you comes from my research on the Lefty prior to purchasing it.

i do suppose all those xc weight weenie racers aren't hucking off a cliff. Same concept as a car but not as beefy and doesn't have the wheels on the other side of the vehicle to counter act pulling with pushing forces right? I looked for ones that have failed and came up with nothing regardless.

I've never ridden one, but maybe it's one of those things that people worry about that, in reality, isn't much of a problem.

I've rode a couple of them, it's a fairly stiff fork, Stanctions are octagons.
