Yeaaah Komodo!

Haha @ the Beauty Contest thing. I actually always make fun of my Komodo for being my fugly bike. For a while I had a picture of it on Facebook sitting next to my pretty graceful looking road bike labelled "Beauty and the Beast." Yours may be better looking though...mine has these skinny stays that look out of proportion compared to the rest of the bike. Fugly or not though, that bike is fun as hell. Now go ride it!

cyclops: Your bars "appear" tilted a bit forward. Your backsweep looks like upsweep. It may be where you like 'em though...just an observation.

Your right, its not really set up yet, I just got home and threw it together. I'll go over it properly later in the week.

Ummm...party at dorinte's place.

How do you even go home? I'd be sleeping in a ditch and going back out...that place is purdy! (bike is too)

What trail is this? Is it in Shenandoah?

That photo is about 24 riding miles from my house, the first 16 miles on asphalt (which I usually drive). Since we are in the middle of National Forest (actually surrounded by Jefferson, George Washington, and Monongahela), there are seemingly endless miles of these roads. Some are nicely maintained, some are barely jeep tracks. It is one of the reasons I still live here :).

That is on Forest Service road 179, Jefferson National Forest. I usually park where 180 hits the asphalt, then ride that up to 179 which runs along the ridge. Then back down, either on 181 to Fenwick Mines, or on 180 to Barbours Creek. Mostly in Craig County VA. It is one of the rare rides which has a few clearings with a view, trees are everywhere here.

Just found this guy through CL this week. '06 Stumpjumper Pro, warranty frame, everything else installed since then besides the original '01 bars and stem. The stem is a little long for me, but everything else is heavenly. 1x9 Sram x9. Someday I may upgrade to disc brakes, but the Avid SD-7's are silky smooth.

I just started mountain biking in August, and raced this season with my University on an '08 Hardrock that was a size too small. Looking forward to the great times ahead with my new rig!

sorry for the poor lighting, just snapped the pic a second ago

The Noleen fork is NOS. Was sitting on the showroom floor at a shop, never installed.
