I ran a Fox Vanilla 130 R on my XLT and loved it.
I also changed out the stock Fox Float R for a Van R rear shock. Added 1lb, but felt awesome!
Avid Juicy brakes worked well with that frame.
Thomson 75-90mm X4 OS stem with an EAston eA70 HiRise handlebar.
Odi Yeti Lock On grips
Thomson Elite layback post.
Hope Pro 2 // DT EX5.1d wheelset
XT derailleurs
Hone crankset
WTB Rocket V Team Ti saddle
XT 11-34 cassette
Crank Bro's Candy C pedals.
2.35" Kenda Nevegals.

I'd take a Vanilla over a 55R. I'd skimp elsewhere and go with the better fork, and then worry about the other upgrades later.

Oh, and I also would like to ask if, buying air rear shox is more worth than to buy one with spring?
