Worth fixing?
A friend of mine @ work has a 2003 Haro Extreme X1 that needs a ton of work. All the components work, shifts fine, stops fine (on stand) and the hubs and rims are decent. The biggest issue is the front fork is blown and the bracket that spans the two fork tube is broken and the rear shock is blown. I thought Manitou is out of business and I've never heard of X-Fusion shocks (rear).
What do you guys think is the best direction to steer my friend w/ this bike? I told him he's going to spend a lot of cash quick but he seems hellbent on fixing this thing. Should he just get a new bike? Any suggestions where to get comparable replacement parts? In regards to the rear shock, can I just find a shock w/ the same measurements, travel etc or is there more to it than that?
Old road bikes are more my thing so I'm a little out of my comfort level in regards to sourcing parts for this thing. Thanks for the help!
Here's a link to info on the bike https://www.bikepedia.com/QUICKBIKE/B...20X1&Type=bike

Measure the stroke and length of the rear shock and find a cheap replacement on ebay.
Get a Rockshox Tora for $100-$150.
Call it a day and enjoy an entry level dually.
