Meh... looks to me like the whole ride is a no-go... By the way, the rain is supposed to start about noon.

Doing a Century ride with Hypoxia on Sunday, though... I'm sure they'd welcome a couple more people. If you're interested, PM me and I'll get you more info.

Dex did you make it to the sale? I was one of the ones there. For the most part I wasn't impressed with selection but prices were sweet. I ended up getting a Primal jersey (Rolling Stones) and a pair of Tri shorts. Spent 50 bucks. Can't bet that.

I hid indoors all weekend. That is until I discovered Excedrin sinus headache medicine. Yay! I can function!

No, I stayed home and worked on my way-behind project. The only riding I did today was ride with C. to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream and then around Stapleton. I think we might have actually done like 4 miles. It was SWEET!

BAHHhhh.....I don't like my new shorts. There is this seam in the front and it catches me just right, if you know what I mean. Also the elastic band around the thighs is too tight. The jersey is nice though. Its good to have pockets.

20 miles on sunday for me. Started at Flat Irons Mall towards EL Derado Canyon, Turn on Cherryvale to S.Boulder Rd. Took that into Laffyette and then back to Flat Irons. Wanted to do more but the people I was riding with had to get going.

I did a century with Club Hypoxia on Sunday.
Here is a photo of the three of us that, after some mechanicals, went on to finish the ride just after dark:

I didn't get to complete the century, but I did set a new personal speed record:

Yes... 53 mph on my tank. Wow, what a rush!

I didn't get out until later, a bit overcast for my sensitive tastes but it was worlds better than Saturday when I had to fight 30mph winds the entire way back to Golden from the junction of Ralston and Clear Creek paths, somebody have some cheese for my wine??

Seriously, riding on the flat paths Saturday I believe my avg mph was slower than my ride up lookout Sunday, while it wasn't exactly warm at least the wind had abatted.

Me too! A few weekends ago I tested my back and putzed around for 3 miles on Saturday then 7 miles on Sunday and everything checked out OK. Last Sunday I went for 24 miles and then yesterday I completed a 40 miler. So I think I'm back! Looking forward to joining or organizing a group ride soon.

Now I just have to get my 2nd bike down to Austin (where I'm temporarily working) so I can supplement the weekend rides w/ some commuting miles. FYI, the weather in CO is even better than in Austin.

I did a century on Saturday and yeah... the winds were HORRENDOUS. There were parts where I was going downhill at less than 10 mph. It was crazy. I got home at 98.7 miles, so of course I went back out to get the rest. A mile from the house I stood up on the bike and it went CLUNK! ... The rear dérailleur snapped.

So I walked it home. But... the 100 miles (100.3, actually!) are on my odometer, they count!

Threw on an old dérailleur I had around onto the bike and I'm back on the road... back to friction shifting, though.

Cool. I was in a car being dragged around clothes shopping with my wife. ugh
I did score 2 t-shirts and a hooded sweat shirt. My wardrobe seriously needs new clothes after my weight loss. Sunday was spent riding around the neighborhood with my son on his 12" bike. Silly boy will not use a trailer since getting his bike. I really need to figure out a way to tow his bike behind the trailer.

I got one the tag-alongs so my boy (just turned 5) and I can enjoy longer rides together, its been awesome. It seems to have helped him ride his own bike as well. His little sister has taken a few rides on it as well, she's almost 3. Can't get her back in the burly anymore, she wants to ride the big girl bike.

I think I am going to need a tag along soon. However, my kid is a chicken and I will need to take it slow. I mean that as lovingly as possible. He is like his dad in that respect. Poor boy won't pedal backwards to stop and walks his bike down every downhill no matter what the grade is. I do not know how I can show him how to stop beyond what I have already done. Ah well. He will figure it out one of these days.

Had a great weekend.

Saturday 20+ miles climbing NCAR & FLAGSTAFF MTN in Boulder.
Sunday 70+ miles riding the loop on the CCT>BCT>C470>PRT>CCT
Monday 40 miles on the CCT>PRT>CCT

Took Tuesday off of the bike. I am unemployed now, so figure I'll do a metric tomorrow for something to do.

You can see what I've been up to here: https://www.youtube.com/Zinrider
