I'm riding this Sunday. Not sure what I'm doing Saturday... maybe go out for a really early spin before my wife wakes up.

Sunday I'm doing a populaire with RMCC:
2007 Brevet & Populaire Schedule
Sunday Route

Fun stuff.

Right now it just looks bad in the morning.
Anyhow, Friday night is dinner out with the family and hunting for a pair of road shoes.
Sat is booked. Guess what! Sunday is easter combined with my bday. I doubt my wife would appreciate it if I skipped out.
So no go all weekend. I suppose I could have just said I am busy. Too bad. Already typed it.

Y'all suck. I'll be out on the road bright 'n early Sunday. Maybe I'll find some easter eggs on the ride!

I may fit in a short ride around broomfield and superior. I could use some hill training.

Nope. I got up, looked out, everything looked dry. By the time I was ready to leave, it was raining and I wasn't dressed for it, and had to change. Oh, and my bike had a flat so I had to swap the tube before I could leave.

Add in the headwind for pretty much the whole trip, and that if I pushed any faster than about 14 mph, the sleet was hitting me hard enough to hurt my face... yeah, I ended up about a half hour late.

Ah, well. *moves his sanity meter one more notch away from 'normal'*

It wasn't that big of a deal. Around 5 am at 88th and the platte trail it was lightly snowing. As I hit Denver it snowed a bit harder. South of Denver it turned into a nice drizzle and then a light rain when I hit DTC. I was partially soaked but nice and toasty when I walked into work. Someday I should purchase rain gear.
Anyhow, the ride home was nice and chilly. The entire day was so exhausting that I had to break down and use an energy gel in Commerce City. Lovely weather for my birthday.
I made up for it when I visited a LBS and adopted a pair of sidi genesis shoes. I only wish my regular shoes were this comfy. I'm in love!

Incidentally, I had one commute last year that was a 34-35 drizzle at the start and turned into a downpour halfway through the ride. I almost killed myself hauling arse to keep warm. At least then I was wearing semi waterproof clothing.. unlike this morning.

102.7 miles. Yes, I know, I'm crazy. Brighton and Keenesburg were interesting, though.

A few pics of the ice buildup on my bike... these were taken about 15 miles in... about 15 miles further on I actually had to stop and chip the ice off so I could continue riding. Oh... and my bike was a 3 speed for quite a while, as I could only use 3 gears, since the rest were frozen over.
