Yeah, you and Eddie are great to ride with. Too bad I hold you guys back a bit. It turned out to be 38 miles since I took an "F" train and had to ride a couple of miles on this end.

The day you apologize for holding me back is the day you show up in head to tow lyrca on a carbon fiber custom job. Till then you got nothing to apologize for!

I might be able to meet up with you guys Wed. I'm getting the ss mtn conversion ready & that would be perfect for these rides (I think). Then I can leave the lycra/road bike combo at home

You ain't holding us back, we're just showing off. BTW, you want me to bring my old SPD pedals? Lemme know which ones, the mtb pedals or the commuter pedals. I think you'd be better off w/ the mtb (double sided) pedals. All you'd need are the shoes and pricepoint has 2004 661 Launch shoes for $25.

OK, two night rides this week! Let's enjoy the weather before the summer's gone. Both start at my place.
1) Wednesday, 7 PM. ~20 miles half upper loop of Manhattan, ending at Cheslea Brewery.
2) Friday, 7 PM. ~35 miles to Coney Island and back.

Yes, but not sure what the difference is between the two sets. Can you link to pics of similar ones Iso I can see them?

Depends, just dropped off my wheel at the lbs, may have to switch to my mtb. That would be extremely painful...
OK, 7:30 it is!

Are the MTB pedals big enough to ride with regular sneakers? I don't want to use clips all the time. If the MTB pedals are comfortable with sneakers, then good. If not, I need the other ones.

I rode a couple MS Rides and a lot of general riding around on the mtb pedals w/ just sneakers. I had the pedals for a few years before I finally committed to riding clipless all the time.

So... picked up the mtn ss conversion today just as the shop was closing. By the time I rolled a few blocks to my apt., well, you can probably guess. The bike had issues.
The shop put a ramped 16t freewheel on the back for some bizarre reason, even though I provided them with a straight one. That seems to be messing up the chain drive quite efficiently.
Anyway, bringing the bike back to the shop after work tomorrow, so I doubt I'll be able to make the Wednesday ride. I'll try to meet up with you guys another time. Have a good ride!

Boo - next time!
I now have two wheelless bikes in my tiny place. Seems that a different lbs gave me the wrong spokes or nipples, so I have to go back tomorrow to fix the mtb wheels, get them up and running, then go over to the other lbs and argue for a loaner wheel. Plus I have stuff like work I really need to do...

Wound up with 26.8 by the end of the night by going all the way down and back up. You probably hit about 35, no?
