There's quite a few road closure threads in NorCal! Regarding Palomares, I see it was reopened, one lane last month. Has anyone ridden through there? Just wanted to know the conditions and how the 1 lane portion is.

Rocklin here (off 80 towards Auburn), checking in at a brisk 107 today. It was 85 already when I got on my bike at 8:00 this morning. I'll be trying again tomorrow morning closer to 7:00, when it should be around 75 but humid. What I wouldn't give for a rainy day at this point.

I was shocked at the temp forecast this morning for San Francisco, it was over 100! Yikes! I feel for you all.

Yep--it was 104 degrees in San Francisco yesterday. It has been sweltering hot for days all over northern California for days, now; and to add to the misery just about the entire state's air quality has gone to hell due to all of the fires that are taking place. Even many spots in the higher Sierras are not immune.
