Frame. All parts coming over, except maybe a new stem. The 120mm might be too long.

There must be a wave of crypticism sweeping the land.

A guy message me about doing a song next weekend (half an hour from here). I replied back with three or four questions about the music/performance. His response thus far has been, "Can you practice with us?"

That's helpful.

Maybe all your questions will be answered at practice.

He didn't say when there was a practice, either. Just asked if I could come practice. It's kind of a pain driving down there, especially if it might only be to play a few notes between lines. We might be able to swing it and just rehearse once right before the event.

That's what I was trying to find out. I don't know why it should be so difficult to find out.

Maybe he's not comfortable doing it unless you practice with them. I dunno. I'm not a musician...

My Saturday evening turned dramatic! Early this morning, a group of friends and associates went up into the big mountains (San Gabriels) to shoot some video footage for a project. I almost went, but there were already too many cooks involved, so I opted to not go. Well past their expected return and still no word, I began getting calls from concerned sons, sisters and wives regarding their whereabouts. Well, the first thing is that there's no cellphone reception up at that height and location, even on the main roads and at the ski village. But the late hour (90 minutes since darkness) was the real issue. I tried thinking of every logical explanation rather than jump to dire conclusions. Eventually even I was concerned and so we pooled all the information we had: what they were wearing, their vehicle, the general destination including lat and long grid numbers from Google Earth. Just before we called the rangers, they finally phoned. Bottom line: it took longer than expected, going was slow on the way down in the fading sunlight, they took some injuries, but they got excellent footage.

First day of vacation. I gained 10lbs in 3 days last week. Time to do something about it. I dropped 5lbs on the trainer last night, that was a start. I may do a century today to start it off, and burn some calories. Crit race in 6 days, time to see race weight again. I will also say I think some of the weight gain is good gain. Quads seem to of gained an inch or so in the last week.

No, that's not good. If it's not an inch of muscle it's an inch of fat, and only juicing will gain you an inch of muscle in a week.

But that's none of my business.

I was finally up early enough on Saturday to do the Bike Zoo 50 mile ride. It's a pretty fast ride, and it was the first time I've ridden in over three weeks. (Well I have been commuting about 4 miles a day). I thought I was going to get dropped halfway. I had just eaten a banana and it wasn't settling well. It's hard to eat a banana when your mouth is dry and your heart rate is up. My spare tube also dropped right on my cassette near the end of the ride and got tangled up. This junior rider, who's been racing since he was nine, stopped to help me. We chatted for the last three miles, and I found out he was only 15. He's very fast though, and hangs on with the CBC A ride on Tuesdays.

On a more interesting note, I almost have as many profile views as pcad.
