Look, another fun opinion from that judge I posted earlier.

""Before proceeding further, the Court notes that this case involves two extremely likable lawyers, who have together delivered some of the most amateurish pleadings ever to cross the hallowed causeway into Galveston, an effort which leads ...the Court to surmise but one plausible explanation. Both attorneys have obviously entered into a secret pact - complete with hats, handshakes, and cryptic words - to draft their pleadings entirely in crayon on the back sides of gravy-stained paper place mats, in the hope that the Court would be so charmed by their child-like efforts that their utter dearth of legal authorities in their briefing would go unnoticed." Bradshaw v. Unity Marine Corp., case no. G-00-558 , S.D. Tex.

Learned today that stress really does have an effect on workouts. I got on the rollers and I started sweating instantly, and my heart rate was high. I couldn't pedal slow enough to get down to where it needed to be.

My boss started texting me about a project so I had to quit anyway. Meh.

I love that guy! Who knew judges were so witty and clever. (As opposed to scary and mean.)

Sure. The doctor patient relationship is a 2 way street. I elected not to throw him out of my office.

The one common denominator with all white suprematists that I have met here in OK (and there are a fair number of them according to the Anti-Defamation League), is that they are the dumbest people I have ever encountered. Real ignoramuses. It is hard to "hate" those people because they are so stupid. When I calm down enough to think rationally, I just feel sorry for them.

You are a better man than I. That's all i have to say. Out of curiosity, do you have a patently Ashkenazi last name or is it more of an Anglo last name? Then again, given what you said, the dumbasses would probably not know that someone whose last name ends in stein or berg could possibly be Jewish.

People think I'm Nordic. The name does not give it away. The nose? Any New Yorker would know

Sounds like we have a lot in common. Although my last name, "atlas" sounds greek to a lot of folks.

That sounds reasonable. Perhaps I was reading too much into it, but the way heckler framed the discussion of his wish to do the group ride, I imagined it like a supplicant pleading on his knees for permission to ride.

"May I please go for a ride on my day off? I've been good and done all my chores."

"Request denied. No riding for you. We are having some 'couple time.'"

"Yes, Your Highness."

BTW I bit the bullet and ordered a set of new wheels for next year - the new williams 38 carbon clincher. It got good reviews and even the seal of approval from our very own PCAD. I had looked into rob/psimet, but at my light weight I can't use his stock budget carbon clinchers as they are too deep, and the Edge one he offers that are shallower are way too expensive.

With free shipping and a coupon code I am getting the set for $959.

Current setup is ok but I have heard good things about these newer wheels. New ones will be more aero, lighter, more responsive, etc.

Once the new wheels come in the current ones will be used for foul weather and winter. I won't even use the new ones until april-ish.

Velo Gator,

Why are you wearing those soccer shinguard socks? It's not because of that little vein on your ankle, is it?
