This is what I wanted to do, but the slushy, snowy conditions would have not warranted a good workout as I would have been on my ass most of the time...

Glad you had a good session. Trainer data just isn't very exciting. So, no comment.

I do find it amusing that Garmins show elevation gain and put squiggly lines on the map while stationary.

Sorry but there is absolutely nothing useful there to comment on. Speed on a trainer means absolutely nothing since it can easily be altered simply by increasing or decreasing the resistance.
