This crossing is such a nuisance but it's now going to be a permanent nuisance. Fing tourists always stop me when I am at full speed leaving the park ride.

Yep.

Actually, my mom called me to gripe a few weeks ago because the Miami Ironman cyclists had her local roads closed. She said, "that Ironman stuff is stupid."

So the crossing that is being recognized by the historic registry is not the actual crossing being memorialized by the historic registry recongnition.

Ow, ouch. My head hurts now.

i think that's the case. the one with loads of idiot tourists ready to pounce is the one they are listing which is not the right one.

I woosed out on the rollers and only did an easy 40 minute spin while watching a TV show. I was starting up a 1 hour sufferfest video (TV+video is what I did last night) and just didn't have it mentally. 5 minutes and I was off.

on closer inspection, it looks like it is pretty spot on with the pic. maybe urban myths have developed. i heard it was the next crossing further up the road but that one won't match the street view. how mysterious.

I remember when I went to London in 1984, I had to hunt around to find that crossing from the cover of "Abbey Road," at the time it was very hard to find and was in pretty much a residential neighborhood. I went there and remember that there was NO ONE around. I was kinda surprised since I figured it would be crowded with tourists but not so. No one was there. Has that changed, Coasting?

yes. it's like playing chicken. if i'm driving, i know for sure i will be stopped. if on a bike, i can see the tourists looking at me on the bike thinking should we go or wait after he has passed. then it is a battle of nerves. can i convince them that I will run them down with my steely look of determination? if i flinch, they set off and i am screwed. emergency braking to test my pads.

What they are wondering is if they have time to (1) go to the other side of the street, (2) grab lunch, (3) come back, (4) pose for a photo, and (5) return from whence they came, all before you reach the crossing at your slow rate of speed.

I remember when I was in London circa 1980, me and my friends mainly engaged in pub crawling.

Did you buy/download the sufferfest thingy online? How do you play it?

I had to convert it to DVD format and burn it to a DVD to put in my player. Fortunately I had software that could do the conversion. Otherwise maybe a laptop with a TV/HDMI output could get it to a TV.

People must be in video moods today. Truck stop posted one of her on the rollers.

Who else is watching the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl? I have such an action-packed life.

Yes, 300 gallons, 96"x30"x24". The 210 gallon tank is 72"x24"x30".

It's a .mp4 file. You can use VLC (free dvd player) to play that. Windows Media Player doesn't support .mp4 unless you install some other junk though.
