Razor got a laptop for Christmas.

Santa stopped bringing me stuff when I got out of HS, I must have been bad.

I went a little deep on Christmas. Garmin for runnerpantz's, iPad, various accessories, and cooked breakfast. Today I'm cleaning bathrooms and painting the pantry (a can of 5 year old beans esploded).

It works, but progress can be difficult to measure. It's like a river making a canyon.

Did you bring the bike? Prop the rear wheel up between two seats and go for a ride. Did you bring your sneakers? Go for a run up the down escalator. There's no excuse for lack for lack of training just because you're stuck in an airport.

Didn't forget this time...

lol thanks for the inspiration dude.

I actually do have a pair of sneakers, but I'm not sure if we're getting a hotel tonight or toughing it out in the airport so I'm not about to go get all sweaty when I don't know when my next shower is. I could use a few days off. When in jamaica I'm going to try and use the spin bike for 5-7 of the 10 days we are there.

hey shovel, did you get a power meter? I seem to recall you were looking for one.

I've had one for awhile now and feel like I need to get a bit more scientific with it. So far I've just ridden with it and done some half-arsed testing. I thinks I need to purchase WKO.

Bikes: Something Canadian, something Italian, something American, and something German

They said we'd get 12-18 inches.

We got less than 1.

It doesn't snow here... first time in a long time where I haven't lived in an area that doesn't regularly get snow. A little sad.

I have disturbing news about one of our members. I believe coasting may have gone over to the dark side and become a kickstand sympathizer. He may have already secretly acquired a kickstand for his bicycle. And he's been spreading his poisonous pro-kickstand propaganda here.

What should the penalty be? Is ostracization enough? Or does this demand outright banishment from the 41?

Yes. Crank based power was out of my reach so it was going to be a Powertap. I got a great deal on an SL+/Joule combo on Ebay and was going to have it built up when it got lost in the mail. I got my refund from eBay and found a sweet deal on an SL Open Pro rear wheel. 1,000 miles, new rim, new 105 cassette, skewer, new trainer tire, $550 shipped. Add $90 for the updater to make it an SL+. Works great with the 705. I found a matching Open Pro front wheel with Ultegra hub and skewer on closeout at Nashbar for $100 shipped so at least I have another set of wheels.

I've only ridden it three times, one test and two rides. I am going to try GC first but I bet I'll end up spending the $129 for WKO+.

Thanks. It looks like GC does quite a bit, but is open source nerdware and probably not the easiest to use. Fair assessment?

not really. I've never used wko but gc works great. You have to understand general power vocab to use either (check the just started training with power thread in the 33), but gc doesn't seem hard to use at all. very straightforward tbh.

That's even worse than our weather people.

Sweet. I went with a Wheelbuilder Pro+ in a Kinlin 300 rim for ~$1k (after waiting a bit too long for psimet to free up). I like having the data all the time now, but also like riding my other wheels. I'm holding out for the new pedal based one to get out of the vaporware phase.

I read something on the site about using a text editor for inputing power zones. I can do that, but would not call it user friendly if it is something you need to do throughout the program.

It's free, I'll give it a try.

If your bike has a kickstand, it is obviously not a serious bike.
