It's a HTFU Points payday for Velo Vol: 27 miles at 34F.

My ride was major suck tonight. I was so excited to get home and ride, but once I got going, nothing felt right. Cadence sensor wouldn't work, headlight wouldn't stay on, I was way underdressed, and something kept clicking. Meh. I hate the days when I'm just not feeling it.

The temperature did change quite a bit. Once the sun started to hide, it became pretty darn chilly. It is 42F now.

I've been fascinated by some of those Garmin reports, like the ones Herbie posts showing him riding under sea level.

Yeah, someone mentioned that in the thread I started about it. I'll try to re-pair (but I wonder how that would have happened?).

Push the button on the side and hold it for 3 - 5 seconds. after that a red or green (I don't remember speed vs. cadence) light should come on each time the cadence magnet goes by. If no light at all you probably have a dead battery.

The light does come on. I'm going to try and re-pair them (I just got warm and need to run outside to grab Oscar).

We might as well throw in the towel and all surrender to fatness/out-of-shapeness.

hey velo, i didn't know the answer to why the ftse did not trade today and thank you for prompting me to look for the answer. it turns out that because christmas and boxing day fell on the weekend, the public holiday were moved to monday and tuesday. no wonder when i took my car to the garag to get a quote for the bumper damage they were not open and the insurance company didn't answer my call. that perplexed me all day.

I say you might as well take off all next week because New Year's is on the weekend.

I just saw a PBS news segment on health care in California. It showed an overweight, uninsured guy in the ER for treatment on his knee, which he injured "playing an interactive video game." It really is over for our country.

Errr... I think this is probably a fair representation of America as a whole; we are becoming the land of the obese.
