I've had two rest days. I might do a little run tonight to ease back in.

I'm gonna ride into the big city I think. Should be good for 35-50 miles today.

Welcome Back!

In other news, I tried to do The Sufferfest, The Hunted this morning. I only lasted about 45 minutes.

Hmmm, not familiar with Vancouver's climate. Is it that rainy, like Seattle perhaps?

I can't see myself swim, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am confident that 2-3 sessions with a coach can solve my issues in the pool, and then I can just train.

When I was semi-serious about swim training I wouldn't use my legs at all. I'd just concentrate on my arms. Legs just take care of themselves, IME.

There was one exercise I used to do that had me get out of the pool barely able to walk - treading water as long as I could with legs only. It's making my legs hurt just thinking about it.

In international news, an update on technology in "third world" nations.

When I was in Mexico, I was NEVER without 3G coverage. My cell phone reception was better than it is anywhere in the USA. My phone rang when I was on a bus on the way to a Mayan village. Perfect reception. Here I have dropped calls every day. There are WiFi hot spots everywhere in Mexico. I hit a free hotspot when I was at the ruins at Tulum.

I was doing 1 arm drills on Thursday trying to even out my stroke. I think I am twisting to breathe, but I'm not sure.

I had the impression you were an avid swimmer once upon a time. Maybe that's someone else.

Updates seem to have her in surgery now. But there were still other people killed.

Boring ride on the trainer today. I was supposed to do 2 - 3 hours outside today but weather prevented it so I did 1 1/2 hours on the trainer. Half hour before the WVU game and an hour afterwards.

I thank you and your countrymen for making it all possible. It's a great community service you provide the globe by documenting human bizarreness.

do you think it is extreme to call for corporal punishment for false weather forecasts?

sunny day with 12c temps......in reality, dark skies stormy winds and downpours and bone chilling cold.

I guess swimming isn't like riding a bicycle in that you can forget. I wouldn't know because I never learned the first time around.

27F out with a wind chill of 17F outside. What does it mean? That Velo Vol is about to dispense a healthy serving of HTFU. 20 miles or bust!

same here, snow came in at exactly the wrong time cancelling a 3 hour group ride. 90 minutes of mostly tempo and Top Gear.

my butt is sore.
