which is fitting since the term "campaign" comes from war, and "poisoning the well" is what armies would do before a siege, to cut down the size of the defending army before the battle.

It seemed easier for me to get out of the saddle when I dropped the pressure a little bit though, felt like instead of riding up almost off the roller I was just compressing the tire and staying in the same spot. For what that's worth, considering I haven't even had mine a week I doubt it's much.

Truckstop, don't give up on the rollers. I consider myself a total klutz but now can do them without issue.
Tip #1- ask the Mr. to hold you while you are riding, and gradually let go. That way you keep your hands on the bars.
Tip #2 - imagine a horizontal line on the ground approx 10-20 feet in front of you and try to ride for that line. Don't look down early on.
With a little practice you will be able to ride them on your own and even graduate from the doorway, which is what I have done. Like I said, if a klutz like me can do it, I expect you can do it too.

See, this is why I thought it would be a piece of cake. Mr. is by no means graceful or coordinated (see post about treadmill) and hurts himself all the time and he can do it... so what gives?
(I think the answer is that he's fearless, for better or worse.)
We will totally try tip #1. I could see that being really helpful. Like a little kid riding a bike for the first time.

Well the wuss of the day award goes to RUOkie. Rode outside for 30 whole minutes! Then a gust of crosswind hit (could not have been more than 15mph) that absolutely froze me. My feet were a little cold coasting, but I came home cause my entire body froze up. I reckon that I was not dressed quite warm enough for 29deg with 15mph gusts. Came back inside for a 90min trainer session.
I friggin hate that thing.

you get htfu points for just venturing out at 29deg. what were you wearing? for 32 deg i was wearing base, jersey, t-shirt and a jacket for wind. shorts, tights, 2 socks, booties, thin hat that covers ears, gloves.

i saw my reflection in a shop window today. i think i'm too low whilst on the hoods. i was well below 45 deg angle. if i add a spacer under the stem, the cables are too short. i think my backache is because i am too low.

thick base layer, long sleeve shirt, jersey, jacket, bibs, leg warmers,2 socks booties, hat, full finger gloves. I was good until the wind picked up. That wind chill killed me.

I'm kicked back with a netflix movie and giant mug of coffee sitting inside a warm house while snow falls outside. What a wonderful weekend.

the Zipp Sub-9 was the first wheel ever to produce forward lift, when paired with our 21mm Tangente tire.

I used Zipp Tagenete tires with my 404 tubulars. That was the worst tire I have ever owned. Ended up cutting it off and trashing it after about 300 or 400 miles.
