if umd were here I think he would make the arguement that the gps is more accurate. The disclaimer would be over a given distance be cause the GPS speed won't propagate the error the way the speed sensor would over longer distances. (so the sensor might be more acurate for shorter distances) of course if you use the feature that calibrates the sensor with the gps you get the best (or is it worst) of both worlds!

Yes it can, however I don't have a powertap anymore. I am using a SRAM Quarq these days.

VG in your running picture a few pages back it looked like your guads were very small... I would hate to think that you are sacrificing your biking strength to get better at running.

IDK, but I suspect we've already had an email fight over the use of the word "redneck," and a few other things.

My neighbor's kids stopped by a couple of years ago and let me know that I was a redneck as I was changing my own oil.

Their dad needed help getting his generator started this past summer after a storm and came to ask for help.... I should have told him to go ask a redneck, but I didn't.

How's this: You might be a redneck if you lube your chain with homebrew oil.

Nope, it would be a waste of money. I bought a Garmin so I would have GPS which does my speed. I couldn't care less about my speed or distance when on the trainer.

Hey Tri-geeks (i.e. RuRu and Jen), it looks like tomorrow's snow may not come until later in the day, in which case I will ride and save the swimming for next time. Unless I have a ton of energy after the ride and go swim in the afternoon.

I still use homebrew. I bet I could pass for a Limey redneck.

Funny. I like Nascar, have been to many races, was on a pit crew, am trained to work on any number of vehicles, and I don't change my own oil.

speaking of power numbers, are you able to make better numbers on the road than on the trainer?

I ask because, I may have just had a good day this past weekend, but I set some PR's on a goof off ride with a friend of mine and never really felt like I went that hard for very long.

Free maintenance?? Nice deal. I wish I had that.

OTOH my car has been nearly trouble free for over 12 years and runs fine, so I probably should not complain.
