IMO, NO. My malpractice carrier will not cover me for Virtual exams. A physical exam is needed for almost all diagnoses.

Sorry, no online doctoring for me. You can make an appt with me if you want but I think it's a bit far.

FWIW most of my patients like me and about 95% of the time the feeling is mutual.

Any feedback on my pcad parody thread de jour?

I would give myself a "B."

Are you a GP?

The online question was not something I wanted for myself I was just curious (for 2nd opinions on things like blood work results or x-rays not exams)

I am in a hole again?

You need to respond to more of your own posts. Get back over there.

There is really no such thing as a GP in the usa anymore. But I am a general internist (ie. specialist in the care of adults).

Hey fishy is it true that if you want to be served alcohol at a restaurant in Utah you first have to be a "member" of the establishment's "club" at exorbitant prices??

Haha no. I think that was recently changed. It was like $15 for a lifetime membership.. not sure what the point was.

However, if you are an alcoholic - or alcohol is an important part of your life - Utah might not be suited for you.

if you ride in the desert, how likely is it that you die of thirst?

If you've never been in the desert - more likely. I don't know... I'm pretty aware of how hydrated I am usually.

I did a really long ride up in the high desert - Flagstaff - Sunset Crater - Grand Falls. Well I was supposed to get out to Grand Falls, but the 1 litre bottle I had in the trunk bag had developed a leak, so I was screwed when I went to replenish the water bottles. It was a fairly grueling ride back down towards town. That was the thirstiest I ever was. Of course you can go a couple of days, but riding a bike is really rough when thirsty. Luckily a Navajo who boasted "city water" refilled my water bottles and fed me some hominy casserole.

Speaking of hominy, I guess most New Yorkers have never seen, let alone eaten hominy. Two chefs on Chopped were rather dumbfounded by it.
