Bikes: GMC Denali

First ride of the day, got cut short due to a locked up freewheel. Last five miles or so of the ride I couldn't coast and it sucked, especially on the descent.

Second ride of the day after fixing the freehub with the help of a dremel to a broken spur in the hub. I could have sent it in for warranty but I didn't want to mess with shipping it back.

Did I say you did not? Just saying for me, I would rather ride than tinker. I just do not have the time for it.

Very windy. Two quick power outages so far tonight.

For some dumb reason Mr. TS got the team edition in blue and orange, which while nice, does not match any of his bicycles in any way. More recently, I got a black one and we traded.

Congratulations on the new bike, it's sharp. I think it's awesome that you went out and got a job to pay for it.

Make sure you ask if it is void if the bike is raced.

One day I'll have a high end bike. Maybe. Probably not.. too much wrist pain in the aero position. Bull****, really.

+1. Until I hit the lottery and have a bicycle butler (team mechanic for the team of me) most jobs are just easier to do at home. Especially with any part in Universal Cycles OR warehouse getting here next day even with regular UPS ground.

I do love it when that happens. Seems like "pick it up day after tomorrow" is somewhat common during the summer months.

Wrenching in bikes has a zen meditation aspect to it also.

Dude... I installed my new shifters. I was outside while taking the old crank off and the bike fell when I went inside to grab something. Not ten minutes after I installed the shifters they get scratched. And it was the only thing that got scratched.

Sad.

Got it out of the way. I leaned my newley built bike against a light post, let go and it rolled about 4 inches against the post leaving a nice 4" scratch in the paint. It's why I put a hairband on the bars...to clamp the brake whenever I go to lean the bike.

Upon closer interaction, rjones28 seems like a good fellow.

I give him a thumbs up.

Razor...what's that cluster? Looks big enough to be a mountain cluster...but maybe it's because I've been working on my 12-23 lately...is it an 11-28?

For lightpost leaning, I usually just lean the rear tire against the post. As long as no one walks into your bike, it's typically pretty safe.

Doesn't work for those old-timey style ones with the wide base though.
