I don't mind the mods occasionally deleting a post or two to allow a thread to live but I can't stand it when they just obliterate a 7-page thread without even giving a reason. Poof. Gone. Along with all the posts.

Look, I'm trying to get to 600 posts and that kind of crap isn't helping.

Last I saw it was basically on track. Who knows.

Typically a term, like 5 or 10 years. Totally worth it.

But seriously, talk to financial aid. It's in their best interest to get you the best aid/loan package they can. On top of that, you're young, single?, and mobile. Shop around for a college that can give you a better package and be willing to move if you need. Educate your way through this recession.

I don't get it. you want street cred by bashing this thread and making snotty superior comments about the kind of people who would post here and here you are again.

Correct. My loans from the government were for 10 years paid monthly, and from the school were 5 years paid quarterly.

it got derailed because you mentioned him. he is a controversial figure. I am surprised it did not go to Trollheim. That said, if you really read most of this thread, MOST of the people here are fairly intelligent, and use this as a goof. We also discuss serious issues, and a lot of cycling issues. Why would you ask a serious question, and then insult the posters who will be answering you?

Eeeee-gad.....I've read almost NONE of it! One day last week I hopped in on like page 140 to see what the hell was going on. I have no idea about the average intelligence of ANYBODY on the Interwebs. Hell, I barely have an idea of the average intelligence of those in my immediate family, and they live with me!

And insults on the web are just a joke. If somebody's feelings get all bent out of shape or they kill themselves or drive to Omaha with a 12-guage to seek out the offending forum member well there might be more wrong there than I can deal with.

I really don't care what anybody thinks - especially on the stupid web. Especially on a stupid web forum. Especially on a stupid biking web forum.

For all you know I volunteer all of my time on the Oncology Ward of the Pediatric Hospital and am loved by thousands of sick kids and families.

Or I wallow away each night watching Twilight Zone reruns as the 17th Corona slowly fries what's left of my brain into deep oblivion.....

talking about twitter, do you folk do twitter? I've always thought twitter was sillier than facebook, but i think i am changing my mind. twitter is probably a better medium than facebook for internet venue.

"bent out of shape"...that reminds me. after my initial foray into pilates, i lost interest. i think it might be helpful but it really is a dull thing to do. i hate repetitive exercises.

I don't use it as much as Facebook, largely because most of the people I actually know are on the latter and not Twitter. I use it as much for a news feed as anything else.
