Attorney Question on Lance
Ok, you attorneys out there. What type of asset protection planning do you imagine Lance had already in place? What pre planned deals might he make against all the civil actions against him from those who paid him money? Do marketing corporation shells shield him from any kind of civil action? Will irrevocable trusts shield him now?

Lance seemed very particular about what he did and didn't admit too. As I don't think he was honest in his admissions my guess is he has a strategic plan he is attempting involving acceptable risk of being sued vs. the possibility of a reduced ban. Things like doping in 09-10 and implication the UCI fell outside of that risk zone.
Note that I did not say this plan would bear the fruit he is hoping for.

Considering Lance's involvement with Trek dumping LeMond bikes and how that cost LeMond a large % of his income you can kinda understand LeMond being bitter and maybe taking a little pleasure in this.
Bitterness isn't real noble but it is understandable, especially when LeMond was right all along.

.....Lemond may be wrong on a few of the finer points, but at the core he's right. Armstrong was a doper, a bully, and a litigious bastard who had no qualms about ruining the lives of anyone who dared to tell the truth -- and has yet to express any remorse for his actions.
Greg deserves praise for his performances, and would be wise to maintain his past habit of not speaking out at all.

And I agree. As a racer Greg was loved for his enthusiasm, candor, loquaciousness, and expressive riding style. Now that he's somewhat of a senior industry leader a little more circumspection would be admirable. His advocacy for clean cycling is coming across as much too personal.

LeMond is the real thing and he was screwed by Trek. That's why I posted this on Trek's FB site.

Collectively, the grouping of low reticulocyte percentage during the 2009 and 2010 Tours
de France, coupled with his unusual decrease in calculated plasma volume during the middle of
the 2009 Tour de France, build a compelling argument consistent with blood doping.
I ain't buyin' it, but for me it's time to move on.

Please this lie is so calculated. He can admit to the earlier doping but not 2009 because of the statute of limitations.
He cheated and lied until 2006 then changed his behavior completely? No way Jose!

I was watching the Lance mania media storm last night on "access hollywood" I believe. They were really drumming up the drama aspect of the situation regarding the Andreus, I not fully aware of the of how Lance affected them but the Andreus seemed to come off as just really butt hurt.

Lance Armstrong admitted his doping scandal. He owned up to it. It's out there now. All the skeptics were right and all the believers are down. I think the reality is he needs a lot of help and counseling. I think he struggled through that interview and appeared arrogant at times. That could be his personality. Either way he has taken his first steps in the right direction. Many will sit here and judge him or cast him but how many will support his "rehab"? I am not one to cast the first stone so I hope he can gain back something.

Seems like the classy thing to do is not get involved. and im sure the lance effect has made a few dollars indirectly for Lemond.

Lance certainly was not the first cyclist to dope (although he may have perfected it), and he didn't do it in a vacuum where no one else knew what was going on. The UCI, many big $$$ cycling sponsers (yes Trek too), bigtime race team management (yes the USPS team too), and the bigtime race promoters (yes the TdF promoters too) knew what was going on for years, and they all turned a blind eye to it for personal or professional profit. So as this scandal unfolds, and light is shed on the problem, Lance can be a great aid in eliminating this corruption from our sport, and returning us to a honest, competitive sport environment much as what occurred in baseball years ago.
If Lance steps up and accepts responsibility for his part, and illuminates the parts of the others involved in this scandal, cycling will come out of this a better sport. But he needs also to apologize to all of those who did not dope during his reign, and who lost forever the opportunities that they would have had had he not cheated them out of them. If he does that, I still do not believe that he should ever be allowed to compete on a professional level again or as part of any team, but I see no reason that he should not be allowed to participate in the sport at a "non-placing" sportsman level as an individual.
