Hello all, long time no post.
I have a frame to coat. Is anybody in the same situation but with a car? Going to Byers Bush in Miss. during the week without a car seems like a hassle... If I could tag along it'd be nice!

Yeah I did! Second one actually. Both kinda crappy but I'll get there eventually.
IIRC you had a few frames coated at Byers Bush. Do they tape the BB threads, HT, etc. ?

Yes, everything that is threaded is covered up and there is usually not a problem. On one my frames they got some powdercoat on the steer tube of the fork and it had to be removed to get the crown race (or crown, whatever) on nice and snug.

I rode by High Park cycles the other day and saw a for lease sign in the window. Anyone know what is going on over there? Big frame blowout? lol.

One of those cases where I feel like a dolt but it wasn't my fault. Going towards King on Atlantic and approaching Liberty this morning. Come to intersection where there is a car directly across from us apparently coming through (I say apparently) since he has no left turn signal, and to our left an airport-limo has just pulled up. The car across from us enters the intersection so, figuring to use him as a block, my friend & I enter the intersection. Turns out, he's making a left hand turn onto Liberty, so now we're in his way. The airport-limo sees this and as he goes through he yells at us. We probably jumped our turn by a few moments but we were thinking the limo couldn't go anyways since the first car was going straight through. Had he been signaling a left, we would have put a foot down and let the limo go next.
I make every attempt to do things right even though it slows me down but I still end up feeling like a shmuck when something like this happens. I don't like to give ammunition to the anti-bike folks.

What's the proper etiquette when you see someone wearing a helmet backwards? I was on foot yesterday and a lady rode by with a backwards bucket and I felt too sheepish to yell at her.
Also, does anyone have a lady friend with little feet who might want a pair of clipless Chrome shoes?
Also also, hai everybody!

Got the door prize today! Going north on Bathurst 'tween Queen & Dundas. Was moving up with traffic between curb & cars. Traffic slowed & stopped. I kept going. Was passing a Jeep on passenger side. One instant no door, next instant DOOR! Hit it full on and back it completely back on its hinges and went down like a sack of crap. I'm fine. Bike's fine. Went on my way after swearing for a bit.
Can find no clear cut indication in TO as to whose fault it may have been. I just want to make sure my righteous indignation is justified.

I'll be damned if it didn't almost happen again on Richmond behind MuchMusic. This time the driver's side of a big black van.

No squeezing by cars at lights involved in either case. I'm just having really crappy luck these days.

I've been having some pretty close calls lately too, I think it is simply because so many more people are out when the weather is nice. The bike paths in particular are almost unusable, so many people walk along the Martin Goodman trail in large groups that it is impossible to get a decent speed up.
Rob, I pm'd you about a bike out west, I think you are still out there but not 100% sure.

shot in the dark, but I was in Alberta last week doing a charity bike ride and my left STI 9 speed shifter broke. It wasn't a huge deal but the problem is that I have a triple and I could only replace it with a double.
Anyone have any idea where I may be able to find a 9 speed STI left shifter for a triple?

It's quiet in here - too quiet.
So, I signed up on Facebook the other day, finally, just to try to get hold of an old friend to go backcountry skiing with this winter out west. He's now a professional guide out in BC. I'm amazed at how many people I knew from high school have come out of the woodwork. It's been 31 years now since I graduated. Some of the hot girls are now not. Some of the girls I had a crush on are still cute. Everyone looks very old. Where has the time gone?

Heheh, yep, it is 20 years since I started at U of T, time flies. All of my high school friends are still looking pretty good though, only a few hotties have become notties, I think that smoking has a lot to do with it. And lack of cycling
