Yeah, you get to buy all your parts from Trek. I'm sure they have some argument about stiffer or lighter or hot with the chicks or something though.

That Trek gets a big yawn from me... but did you guys see this thing! :O

The Trek doesn't do a whole lot for me, but the Pinarello is nice. Leaves me wondering how much of the sex appeal is the bike and how much is simply the dramatic lighting in the photography. :P

canice 06-06-07 02:36 PM

that pinarello is definitely all sex appeal. that thing would look good in one of those point and shoot, in front of the garage door photos.

hauled ass to oakville this afternoon for a long ride. had a headwind the whole way back. :(

He can certainly take a nice photo of his bike. Even the Trek he has looks amazing.

I'm totally getting that leather cover for my bars when I have the cash (and when I have a set of flat bars to swap out for polo!)

Velo-Orange has some nice stuff, and not crazy expensive either.

I_bRAD 06-06-07 04:30 PM

That's what I was thinking :)

somnambulant 06-06-07 04:55 PM

Also, the new bike with the internally geared hub is dead ****ing hot. I've actually been thinking about building up something similar with maybe an IRO Rob Roy or something along those lines.

Awesome, what did you do to it? I hope it wasn't in really rough shape once you got down to the gnitty gritty parts. My mom has been booting around on the replacement Raleigh for that one and loves it. I even took it for a spin, those old 3-speeders are fun!

I'd like to do the same thing, but mine would have a Rohloff :D

It was in decent shape parts wise. I did a LOT of cleaning, scrubbing and polishing. Took it apart down to the last screw and put it together with great care. It's like a new bike now. Only replacement parts I added were 1 spoke, 2 cotters, cables and brake pads. Also, unfortunately I couldn't keep the pedals 'cause they're not serviceable  It's getting a new seat when funds allow :)

Well, if they are decals then it's an easy fix. :)

TRaffic Jammer 06-06-07 06:03 PM

the front end above the head tube looks wacky to me the whole thing looks molded, I wouldn;t kick one of my porch though

I've got an old Brooks B5N you can have for it, if you want. It's a little scuffed and the leather is torn near one of the front rivets, but it looks quite servicable....

shapelike 06-06-07 08:38 PM

I thought the T-Mobile team bikes (Giants) used in the Giro were exceptionally hot and really classy.

... just sayin' ...

Oh, and the white Scott Addict was also tits.

it's actually for me, and although i'm tempted to accept your offer, i've learned that there are something that are better when gender-ised  plus i have my eye on an ever-so-lovely matching touring brooks saddle...

Danhalen 06-06-07 10:13 PM

That NYC bike confiscation thing is unfriggen real! How in the hell do they justify that? And arresting two people as well? How can there possibly be a good explanation?

Oh and Rob you're a bad rim decal.
