That whole series is mental! I am a fan of the burping contest and the ice sliding.

A good friend of mine woke up this morning to THIS.

I'm looking for a 56-58 frame that I could build as a conversion or a complete bike in that size ON THE CHEAP!

There is much more to the story that I won't get into here but the bottom line is that she had her bike destroyed for all the wrong reasons, if anything she had it destroyed for being a good friend and I want to help get her back on the road ASAP.

Oh man that blows. Last time I saw her we we talked about how awesome the paintjob was on that bike and how much biking rules. I'm not really in the loop at the moment but if I hear of anything I'll let you know. I certainly have lots of time to look on the internet...

Most of the kids are special needs, identified disabilities and/or sent there because they couldn't do well enough academically to graduate from any other school. Should work out well, the job is until April, I'm covering a maternaty leave, and will be then be a stay at home dad. Nice location at Warden and Finch. Should be a good ride there and back each day. Going to have to teach the kids how to make those Egg Custard tarts.

Oh yes, there will be pie making, lots and lots of pie. And coffee cake too Dan.

Sounds like a good gig! You realize how important it is to have help in the tasting department right?

Thanks again for last night B&T! That pie was top shelf! Nice seeing everyone again as well. Hope you made it home ok Dan. You look so out of sorts looking for a streetcar stop. It ain't right man. Yuo should at least have your own personal rickshaw so you can feel a lil more at home.

Yup can't say it's my first choice. But I opened my blind with my left arm this morning and was able to lift a half full milk carton onto the counter! Progress since yesterday. It's pretty slow but I'll get there. At least I can start on the trainer now. I'm craving moving my legs around in a circle :D

Brad did you make the pie filling from scratch? I may or not have dreamed of that pie last night. It was so good.

Baking!? you've crossed to the dark side. i wouldn't knock those kids; sounds like the type that make the best (and most) cooks.

It pays the bills, too bad I'm not a pastry chef. Learning on the go. Next week is Rice Krispie Squares and puddin', lots of puddin'. Going to find Bill Cosby to get me some puddin pops. Some of the kids are awesome and almost all of them are super eager to work and learn. I've had no problems so far. And its been loads of fun working with these kids.

And to the Squab doubters, more for me then. So tasty and delicious, yummy yummy in my tummy.

****ty break, that's one hell of a mess they made of that.
The only 'spares' I have are all too small. I have 3 frames (two are built with what they came with) - all 19" - one Pooj, totally bare w/ fork (no BB and it's French threaded - so $$$) - I have a Bianchi, lower-end I'm told and a Gardin that's in a bit of rough shape, but complete. You're welcome to any parts off these for zilch or a very minimal cost, though I don't think they're terribly good quality - I'll provide pics if it sounds useful though.

Try CBN as well, those guys have a bunch of stuff that they maybe able to let go for the price of air or a little more.

Saw an ad on CL - 512 Euclid @ 8am tomorrow for some parts/tools from a wholesale closing... I'm probably gonna go looksee.

As for the GI Joe vids, this one has to be my fave:

A close runner up to PORKCHOP SANDWICHES! :D

Of course! That's how I roll yo. The filling is the easiest part of the whole thing!

MattRennick 09-14-07 01:54 PM

Thanks everybody!
It looks like Cam's Bianchi may have a very new and very happy home this weekend!
Keith, I'll get in touch with you tomorrow morning or early afternoon - we're trying to figure out what we can salvage and what we've got collectively in terms of all of my friend's parts bins and what we can chip in financially to get Jordan back on the road ASAP.
Does anyone have a flip flop rear wheel (f & r wheelset preferred) for sale?
Peace,
Matt

Good game to the weather. Rain right after I left for work, and I had to OT when ****ing ******bags can't read the sign outside that says

WE ARE CLOSED AT SIX.

It's actually probably the best place to ask. No other forum that I'm aware of is as plugged in to fixed gear as here. We talked about doing an external one at one point, but this one seems to suit (plus we can clobber all the other threads with our massiveness). It's also probably a better access point for newbies than an isolated forum. If you need to talk with someone specifically, we can probably plug you in. Were you still looking around for a Hellowe'en alleycat?

Operator: Those people PAY YOUR SALARY! Har. You must worship their point heads.

When I was a wee lad, I worked at Butler's Pantry on Roncesvalles and I had to work Sunday brunch. Back then, brunch was a hard thing to find in Toronto and ours was really good so we had people lined up outside a half hour before we opened!

It infuriated all of us to no end, I am not really sure why though, I think we just wanted a few minutes to ourselves that early in the morning.

DrBenway 09-14-07 07:32 PM
