It just attaches to the rails using little clips+straps so it's pretty easy to move. I just use it on my road bike though, so I don't really deal with that. I think mine is the smallest, fits what I need, but just barely.

-2* Park tire levers
-1 pack of Park glueless patches
-1 emergency first aid kit (another good thing to carry!)
-co2 + head
-extra tube
-multitool
-a couple ttc tokens

And then when I ride I throw a credit card and my ohip card in there, wrapped up in a $20 bill. :)

I would add a couple of those moist handy wipes they give you when you order chicken wings. Those little suckers will get most of the wheel grime off yer hands after a flat fix.

I've never thought of the moist towelette, brilliant!!!! I am super filthy after fixing a flat. I've always got that extra TTC or cab fare handy.

I'll take that $20 to start with.

I would like to thanks Mitch for helping me with that fast time. We were flying by the time we hit the start. I was scared shipless of his 49x16 (and youth). I rode for my life.

Wow so you could be full tilt by the line? I'm amazed the dreariness of today was all caused by fog.

Well, the idea was to approach the line at a 'walking pace', and keeping even with your opponent. Then once you cross the sprint line, anything goes. Keith and I didn't start sprinting until we probably only had about 80m to go, if I remember correctly. I'm fairly certain we were the only ones that didn't hammer right from the line though.

And yeah, it's been bright and sunny up this way since late this morning. I went for a little spin after I ate lunch though and I noticed that all the buildings down in the financial core seemed to be still totally buried in fog. Would have been a good photography morning/day.

I rode out to Jet-Kote today to get a frame powder-coated and they charge $125 for a custom colour, was it always this way? I decided to just get a semi-gloss black for $75 as this is a budget build for a friend. I may have mis-remembered their pricing but I thought that it was $75 for any colour.

It was a nice day for a long ride. I put in almost 50kms and it is only 6pm, still lots of time to add to that total.

i think i might be up for doing that this winter, i like my white bike but the paint is getting manged up really quickly, does that include stripping it?

I think it does but just ask Dan Halen how he feels about their stripping practices. That was Jetkote, right Dan?

Damn, they do a crappy job of blasting it? I had my Ciocc done by them last winter and the coating went on rather thick, meaning that the nice embossed details were lost. I pondered whether they had actually stripped it all and had just put the powder-coat on top of the previous powder-coating; maybe that is the case. I hope this frame that I dropped off goes okay, it is just an old mountain frame that my friend wants for a winter bike.

My powdercoat turned out lovely. I've heard of stories of them ****ing up other peoples frames so YMMV.

remember powdercoating steel offers no rust protection especially in the winter. powdercoad goes on bare steel and is baked on without any primer so there is no inhibitor. 15$ will usually buy you a bottle of rust inhibitor at your local automotive supplier. pour it in the seat tube and turn the frame around and around to coat it eventually leaving it to hang overnight with your dropouts pointed down and the inhibitor will eventually drip out the little holes in the chainstays and seatstays at the dropouts.

winter can sneak its way into your frame and rot it out from the inside.
