Btw Wes, I won't let it happen to me, I'm there. Saturdays are best for me as well and I have no problem getting repeatedly dropped if I'm alone on my fix. I will catch up during the rest/snack/stretch/backgammon/fiddlesticks breaks.

Looks like it may be warm and rainy tomorrow night... could be fun - and the last of warm rain.
In the interest of fixie unity, I will also ride my track bike. Then at least there is three of us getting dropped.

If we're gonna do it on the 27th we'll have to go fairly early as I have like 8000 different things to do that day.

8001 things.

So last night Paul dropped by to show me the Colnago he just got!!!! He went to Wheels of Bloor yesterday to check it out, he didn't even realize they were the store doing the Colnago blowout at the show because they didn't appear to have a sign up at the show (I certainly didn't see it). Anyhow he ended up getting an aluminum frame/carbon stays and fork Colnago with Campy Chorus and FSA crankset and Easton wheelset. Apparently it was the last Campy equipped Colnago they had left. They have a couple more left with Shimano I believe. They are still going for $1500. He is going to sell two of his other bikes to fund it, a move which I fully support. It fits him like a glove too. Damn it is sweet! I kind of hate him. In a friendly way. *sigh*

I like that store, they have some pretty good deals and don't have a lousy attitude like Racer Sportif, which is just a block west. They had the Easton Circuits for $300, which is a great deal, but I passed as I have too many wheels as it is.

I can't make it, got the CN Tower stairclimb and I won't be able to hold a decent pace with the trailer as I'd have my daughter. If I can get her Mum to watch her, I'll come along for sure - but time is precious

i'd prefer the 20th vs the 27th because that's hallowe'en weekend... i was thinking that i would ride my 3-speed, if i clean off all the grime from the 6 hour thunderstorm first...

i forget what route/area had been suggested?

i'm a first time caller; long time listener. and i need help.

i murdered my bike over the weekend and would like another one quickly. is there anywhere that still has fixed gears lying around at this time of the season? la carrera was empty, curbside had nothing, bike on wheels had one sputnik and a whack of viciously overpriced conversions, urbane seemed to only have a few bikes too large for me. any other places i should look to? i am just looking for a cheapo fuji or KHS at this point.

thanks in advance, gang.

I suggested riding up to around the badlands/Forks Of The Credit area, but I'm open to other suggestions if anyone else has any.

I've always wanted to go to the badlands, so I like that idea. If someone else leads the way I don't even need to figure out where it is. Where is it anyhow?

****! My friend Bjorn who lives in Berlin went to Cicli Berlinetta today to inquire about my bike. They gave him some story about a Fed Ex number???!!! What the hell? I get a different bull**** answer every time I ask what's going on. It was supposed to go by mail, which required a smaller box than the one I packed it in (well Bjorn packed it for me because I was in full gimp mode at the time). They were supposed to have taken care of that. Then I heard the delay was caused by the need for a bigger box. Now there is some kind of "problem" with "Fed Ex". Angry and confused I am. It is now 8pm there and I just got the email. Apparently Dustin the owner wasn't at the store today anyway. I'm going to have to call tomorrow and try and figure this out. God what a friggen nightmare. Let this be a lesson: all of these things happen with you open your car door without looking!

Well, this would be a great route, but I'm not sure about the length. The longest ride I've done this year is about 85km, which is kind of lame. https://www.bikerally.org/trainingmap...elfountain.pdf

This is similar, but shorter. It doesn't quite get to the badlands, but it wouldn't be much of a diversion to get there off this route: https://www.bikerally.org/trainingmap...TerraCotta.pdf

This map shows where it is: https://www.torontohiking.com/QwikFin.../l16rdmap.html I think it's between L and M on the first route I posted.

The main annoying part of either of those routes is the whole "getting the hell outta mississauga" thing.

After an odd sequence of events, a man brought a cowbell to Cycle Therapy for me today. He wanted $30. I haggled him down to $10. Thank you, father. You taught me well.

Ok I just got an email from Dustin apparently he sent my bike last week to "Courier Cavern" and that is it supposed to arrive "this week". I hope there isn't any problem with that since I wrote out the exact address info for him. Probably won't be a problem. Oh well if it is true that it has been sent then all is well. But one may ask why all the smoke and mirrors?

They have some cowbells at Active surplus too... around 10 bucks IIRC.

Oooh didn't think of that. *slaps forehead* There shouldn't be customs or sales tax considering I bought the bike myself in Canada... But I don't know if that's how it works. I guess maybe there might be customs. I can drop off some cash to you. One way or another I will pay for it of course.

120k is no biggie if you make a day of it! Slow and steady... blahblah.

If we left early on Saturday morning, traffic in mississauga probably isn't going to be an issue. The more of us there are, the better the situation will be!
