I've never seen one on the road, but apparently they exist

Toronto CL is getting dumber every day..

First, there's the $400 80's road bike that's too small for the owner, without a size in the ad. Oh yeah.. "Columbio" frame, and a backup for a famous anonymous Canadian Cyclist.

However, that doesn't compare to the ALIMINUM CARBO ***** BAR.. truly the nightmare of every violated cyclist on a diet that values "bling" over function.

1. Now that Sympatico's admitted to throttling bittorrent traffic, I'm on the hunt for a new dsl provider. Teksavvy look like the best option currently, but anyone know another company I should deal with?

2. I was browsing through Dave Chappelle clips on YouTube last night and came across some Def Poetry Jam segment. TWO HOURS LATER I had gone through almost every clip on the whole site. Who knew, apparently I really like poetry ... whatever genre of it that I saw was, at least.

3. ****ty bmx freewheels can create a knocking sound not unlike bottom bracket play or loose crank arms.

I love how they constantly poopoo cable internet as being 'shared' and then admit to throttling p2p apps so that heavy users don't affect casual user's internet connections... oh, marketing.

Try forcing only encrypted traffic in your torrent client (uTorrent definitely supports this).

I've heard Beanfield (https://www.beanfield.net) is decent, but I'm personally on Rogers and have no issues.

Ah, I have everything set up to run overnight so I guess I'm out of the "peak" hours. I use encrypted utorrent if that matters.

I did get an email forwarded from sympatico once saying I should "cease and desist" sharing episodes of "quantum leap" but haven't had any trouble since.

Re: the Colnago... not sure I like it, chainring looks ****ing colossal on that thing too... 56T? The whole tone of that letter seems uppity/holier than thou, screw that noise.

Edit: bleh I feel a hippocrit in the largest sense now that I think about it... not even a hint of my own FG here and I'm still criticising.. I think it's fair to say that this day can firmly go **** itself... Though I did my stand to attention for Nov. 11th, I didn't don my uniform.
It may be something or not, but the other day on my way to work I saw a obvious non-cyclist riding his bike and pushing/holding a Giant Bowery along Pape. I figured it was a stolen bike, but by the time I was able to stop and turn around he was off on to side streets and I couldn't find him. I was waiting for a CL post about the bike, but I have seenj afew in the city so I guess this could be a legit posting.

I agree with them. Quantum Leap?! I guess we all have our guilty pleasures. I like Triumph myself. A little Magic Power anyone....

Someone actually wants back episodes of "Quantum Leap"? Wonders never cease. Tho that Scott Bakula is pretty dreamy!
By the way...that cease and desist message was from "Ziggy"...he is watching out for his royalties.

Uh, yeah...
I liked this bike when I saw it in the window of Inabstracto but now I’m going to have to put it on blast. We all post our bikes online for other folks to geek out on and/or offer commentary, sure, but come on now; do we really need to write a ****ing press release? Dude, it’s a bike – an interesting one but not an extraordinarily cool one (in its current form) and certainly not a useful one.

Well I got a response back. It's pretty funny. I'm not sure if I should post it because there are very few non curse words in it. I'm tempted to respond line by line, but seriously I can't be bothered. I'm feeling much less confrontational now and I really don't want to get caught in some pointless pissing contest. But yeah. Here's the funniest part at least:

"... if i have to explain why everything is the way it is for you.. you don't get it."

Yeah ok buddy it's me that doesn't get it.

A buddy of mine from Law School set up a co-op ISP that is totally open. He's a good guy, he did a lot of work for the EFF.

Maybe now that the bike is on BikeSnobNYC the owner will realize that he is the only person who gets it. By any chance did he mention a price in the email?
