Catlike helmet for $70 and pair of Sidi road shoes for $30! I'm gonna flip the shoes on Craigslist since they were so cheap. I already have road shoes and these are way too big for me. Dammit, I forgot to look for lenses for my glasses. Matt and I were proudly sporting our new brain buckets this afternoon. Thanks for the Espresso Jeremy! And thanks for the pass Keith! Thanks for nothing Wes

The Sidis from the corner? I saw those and thought they might fit you... one size too small for tam. I also considered selling them but not worth the trouble.
After a fun afternoon of wandering around active surplus, I will have a kick ass lighting system for 1/10th the price (and 10X the weight, but I can use the extra momentum) 35W and 5hr burn time anyone?

Hmm not sure. I could have sworn that I saw two Sidi boxes. Then I went to leave and suddenly realized I could flip the shoes. So I went back and only saw one Sidi box. Either I was wrong or someone grabbed 'em real quick. Both reasonable possibilities. The ones I got are 44. 43 would be a bit better for me I think. Not that I need shoes anyway. What I do need is cashmoney. Shucks yeah. I'm so glad I was there early. Once it got chaotic I was so out of there.

Ah, the ones I saw were size 39, so there were a few floating around! They had tons of cheapos and then one box of sidis that nobody seemed to notice!

Dan, how much you want for those size 44 Sidis? If I'd have seen them I probably would've got (only saw the 39s)

operator is interested /glances at the batterspace 13W HID nimh system $200usd
I was also meaning to ask this - is there a good electronics store downtown (not radioshack). Need to pickup some IR Leds, resistors etc.
Which sidis are they? Road? MtB?

I've got my old marwi nightpro light which kicked the bucket (not sure why) but it had a 15W 6V MR11 halogen. 35W 12V are a lot easier to come by for a lot less money and they fit the housing perfectly, so that takes care of the hardest part for me as I already have the housing, reflector and mounting.
Next up is power supply... and you can get 2.3Ah 12V batteries at Active surplus for $2 each. I bought four, and I'll hook them up in parallel depending how much burn time I want. The only problem is that they're very heavy- each one is 2lbs. For my commuter bike weight is kind of a moot point anyhow.
I do have a 35W HID bulb, ballast and starter... but I'm not sure how I'd get it mounted to a reflector/mount. It's a standard H7 bulb, but I don't know anything besides a car headlight which would fit that and that's a bit much to mount on the bars!

They are road shoes.
Flimflam: if you want them I wouldn't charge you a cent more than I paid ($30). If I was going to sell them to someone I don't know on craigslist... Well that is a different story altogether
edit: sorry i can't resist that stupid happy birthday smiley

Electronics store= Active surplus. cheap cheap cheap, and fun to wander around.

P.S Active surplus website leaves something to be desired.

If you go to the store (Queen West near Peter) - you'd see why, it's crazy and very cool in a nerdilicious way.

I've never checked their website, but check out the shop. It's like a 2 min walk from your work (Queen/Beverly)

Think I’ll be wearing my lid Monday morning. I’ve been neglecting it lately! after looking in on Mr. White’s site I think it’s a good idea to wear it. Ride safe.

Didn't end up finding anything too interesting at the show this morning, but I certainly did enjoy that coffee at Manic... very nice!

+Infinity to Active.. as a former engineering student, I spent way too much time/money there on projects. Another option is going to Honson computers on college@spadina.. that's where Supremetronic (formerly a few doors down from active) moved their stock. Good for some things (connectors/packaged ICs) if you can't find them at active surplus.

I'm going to be in and out tomorrow (after sleeping really late) but maybe give me a call and we'll see if we can work something out. These are road shoes to use with road pedals just wanted to make sure you know that (Oh wait it looks like I posted that already above. *shrug*).

So Alternative grounds has "velo-city" coffee, complete with a little bike pic on the label. No word yet on the sperm themed mug.

I don't know... I just go every couple weeks or so and pick from whatever they've got.
Today I grabbed the last of the Ethiopian Harrar, that stuff is so great but they don't seem to have it very often.
