i went for a ride today for about 30min looking through thrift stores and similar places, couldn't find one. so i think im going to create one out of a hockey stick for the time being.
weight isnt too much of a concern for me... yet... i figure i need a stronger wrist for polo, and the best way to get it would be to use a heavy mallet.
that and i love using me dremel on wood

ha ha thanks for asking because i was wondering too!
seems like i got a bit of a discussion going... but really, i'm sure some of you will be in the audience and i know what tough critics we all are...
so it sounds like using a cell would be kosher, and that makes the script details a bit easier.
anyone with a mess bag though? i know i could use my backpack, but i think my character would go for the faster option. OMG filming starts next week!

just what i'm trying to avoid!
ha ha thanks keith... i'm still holding out for the holster + push combo, but i'll keep your offer in mind too. very tempting to come up with an unscheduled delay in the production though!
btw it's for a film that will eventually be in one festival or another (enviro/bike/short) so i do mean what i say about you guys being in the audience!

You know that thing people do when they start working out and they go way overboard the first time because they want to get much more fit quickly and then end up just ****ing themselves up and hobbling around for days/weeks after? Ya, don't do that with building up your wrist strength ... it's not exactly the most solid part on your body.

im more worried about knee muscles then wrist ones, just from my past experience with wrists and ankles. When i lived in england i played field hockey at a national level, one of the many ways to rebuild muscle was to use a heavier stick at the beginning of the season then change to the nice one when muscles were there.
mind you i also rock climb so i have some wrist strength, just more support muscles, then quick moving ones.
i was more concerned about wood breaking quicker or something like that.
always nice to know someone is there trying to stop me from hurting my self.

A hollow tube is stronger than a rod of equivalent diameter, so you might look for old golf clubs. There's usually tons of those at most thrift stores.
I found an old 42t chainring that fits my crank and I kinda like 42X15....I spin a lot going down hills but I think my knees will be a lot happier this way. Thanks for all the input everyone, the bike will be perfect once I figure out this mystery creaking noise.

Ahhh, the mysterious creak, wont to make a grown man cry. My wifes bike took forever for me to figure out the creak. After checking the stem, bars, seatpost, saddle rails, b/b, pulling and regreasing the threads on the b/b, replacing the b/b and swapping the pedels I finally figured it out. All five chainring bolts were loose. Drove me up the freakin wall trying to figure it out.
Good luck.

I had come to the conclusion, spinning is less hard on the knees but makes your thighs crazy sore.... if your seat is too low.
In case the Brothers Kaisers were wondering who the *F* yelled their names two nights ago while riding at Dundas and Sherbourne, it was me.
