weight isnt too much of a concern for me... yet... i figure i need a stronger wrist for polo, and the best way to get it would be to use a heavy mallet.

that and i love using me dremel on wood
You know that thing people do when they start working out and they go way overboard the first time because they want to get much more fit quickly and then end up just ****ing themselves up and hobbling around for days/weeks after? Ya, don't do that with building up your wrist strength ... it's not exactly the most solid part on your body.

anyone with a mess bag though? i know i could use my backpack, but i think my character would go for the faster option. OMG filming starts next week!
I have half a dozen old messenger bags...you are welcome to borrow one for as long as you need it. Bonus for being in a messenger related t.v. spot and not having a brand new bag like every other one I have ever seen.

just what i'm trying to avoid!

ha ha thanks keith... i'm still holding out for the holster + push combo, but i'll keep your offer in mind too. very tempting to come up with an unscheduled delay in the production though!

btw it's for a film that will eventually be in one festival or another (enviro/bike/short) so i do mean what i say about you guys being in the audience!

im more worried about knee muscles then wrist ones, just from my past experience with wrists and ankles. When i lived in england i played field hockey at a national level, one of the many ways to rebuild muscle was to use a heavier stick at the beginning of the season then change to the nice one when muscles were there.

mind you i also rock climb so i have some wrist strength, just more support muscles, then quick moving ones.

i was more concerned about wood breaking quicker or something like that. always nice to know someone is there trying to stop me from hurting my self.

A hollow tube is stronger than a rod of equivalent diameter, so you might look for old golf clubs. There's usually tons of those at most thrift stores.

I found an old 42t chainring that fits my crank and I kinda like 42X15....I spin a lot going down hills but I think my knees will be a lot happier this way. Thanks for all the input everyone, the bike will be perfect once I figure out this mystery creaking noise.

Ahhh, the mysterious creak, wont to make a grown man cry. My wifes bike took forever for me to figure out the creak. After checking the stem, bars, seatpost, saddle rails, b/b, pulling and regreasing the threads on the b/b, replacing the b/b and swapping the pedels I finally figured it out. All five chainring bolts were loose. Drove me up the freakin wall trying to figure it out.

Good luck.

I think it is the seatpost or the seat. Someone here had a creaking problem that was resolved with some grease on the rails and a lot of it on the post itself, I will try it tomorrow. But yeah, it is maddening, the bike is silent except for that creak....I even hear it now that I am off the bike, it will haunt my dreams tonight, no doubt, hehheh

Here's a thread that may be worth looking at.

I was just thinking about your situation the other day..

I had come to the conclusion, spinning is less hard on the knees but makes your thighs crazy sore.... if your seat is too low.

In case the Brothers Kaisers were wondering who the *F* yelled their names two nights ago while riding at Dundas and Sherbourne, it was me.

You two are so easy to pick out in a crowd.

Hehe - I considered yelling out a "Hey!" last night, must've been post DSR ride at Bathurst/College as a few peeps including the bros rounded the Sneaky Dee's corner going east as I was heading west.
