thanks guys!
exactly
even the cops said she sounded like a bully. of course if we all reported every aggressive driver we'd never have time to ride, but sometimes...
luckily in this case i wasn't actually hurt, although that can make a complaint harder to prove. these things happen so quickly, and there's so much going through your head at once. i'm glad that i wrote everything down immediately, but even then there were details i wasn't totally clear on like how fast, how close, what other cars were around etc. and while you want to remember the plate # i always have trouble knowing what make and model of car.
thank goodness for crappy cell phone pics.
Zippered, as she flashed her badge, she obviously thought it was going to have some sort of effect on you. Now we know she wasn't in her jurisdiction, so she was putting on a show. Even CSIS has to obey the laws when driving.... not a high speed pursuit. The fact she flashed a badge has her on the hook BIGTIME. Most enforcement agencies will take a dim view of her flashing the shield for something like this. Now if it turns out she's not supposed to have a badge and does it to get herself ...whatever, then she is in trouble. Good on ya.

The flip side to the officer coin:
Going home last night two bike police have boxed in Mr. Tuner Honda at King/Yonge and are crawling over the car with a measuring tape. Carbon hood, Maxwell House coffee can exhaust, custom BRIGHT head lights. Now with the limit +50kph car seizure, if he was doing 90 in the core (which isn't beyond the imagination)...CYA!!

It was an honest miscommunication between road dwellers, so they exchanged smiles and waves and went about their bizway...until the last cop in line looked back over his shoulder and saw the 17" -wide- slicks on the back of the 'stang.
They pulled the bad car over, askeing where he thought he was going with THAT, popped the hood looked over & under, totally not street legal, but a squad car may have never seen it. buddy lost his car at that intersection and good riddance.

All I know is I saw a bunch of dudes on fixed gears and at least one of 'em had an aerospoke on the front of their bike. I knew one of them would be here eventually.

That was probably Chris (who doesn't post here) as I think he was the only one with an Aerospoke there today.
I've posted up a few pics from the Sprints this morning if anyone is interested at all:

Keith: I finally dropped off the HED bolt to Malcolm today. He is going to try and get it done by Tuesday. Let me know if that's ok with you, otherwise I can pick up my wheels from your place and leave them in my office until the part is ready.

Hey mechanics: a buddy at work gave me a musette full of cycling goodies the other day and in it was a set of "dura-ace a.x." brakes.

they seem to be a centre pull or sort of mini-canti; does anyone have any info on how to set these up? he also gave me a modolo cronos which is a tastefull knockoff of a campy delta.

It would be bad karma to sell them since your friend gave them to you but they go for a lot of money on eBay, depending on their condition. I have a set of the A.X. pedals and they are really neat but you have to have a different crank for them, so I just scavenged the cages from them.

Because you like discussions of bling, fashion, aches and pains, and discussions of whether someone is still a roadie if they gain 8lbs of upper body mass? Ummm.... wait a minute <<looks in main ss/fixed forums>>.....
