They don't call it "The Death Star" for nothing - riding one with a chipped spoke would be incredibly stupid.
This guy has some Miches for $125, which is pretty reasonable, no?

I've noticed a lot of fixed gear stuff on CL lately, searching for "track" brings up a lot of returns. Does that mean the trend is starting to pick up here or it is over and people are selling off the stuff they don't want?

These ones. I emailed Zipp about 14h on 28h radial. This is what they had to say. Although they intially thought I was trying to do 14h on their 28h rims, but I don't care for their rims.

I did see that ad however. So I picked up my Razesa from Jet-Kote today and they did a pretty good job. I was concerned that the pantographing on the seat-stays and brake-bridge would get filled in by the coating but they are nice and clear still. The only problem is just a little spot on the head tube that was missed but I think I can fill it in easily enough. I am going to start building this thing up tomorrow, should be fun.

Or just folks who get excited, go into consumer mode, then realize they have to pay the rent or the divorce lawyer or beer bill or whatever.

We can get those. I ordered them for myself, but then scratched them off the list pending zipp t2's.

Aw man, I wish I hadn't just checked the forums now (11:30). I definitely would have taken a stroll over to the Horseshoe! How was the show?

They totally rocked. Their guitar player, 14, completely blew me away. They did a bunch of covers and 2 original songs, which the guitar player wrote. It was quite funny as they were legally not even supposed to be inside, let alone on stage. After their set the owner was stressing to get them loaded up and out of the bar. The crowd...pretty large for a Wed....ate it up.

That's great - I played the Horseshoe when I was 15 and it was a great feeling - your nephew and his buddies are going to remember that night for the rest of their lives for sure!

I was reading about those r-sys wheels a while back. "it uses tubular-carbon spokes that resist both tension and compression".. there's something to be said for comfort, and that sounds like a complete ass-buster to me!
I was also reading something on bike hugger about the newer HED carbon clinchers. The rim is actually wider than a normal road rim, so regular road tires wind up stretched out a little more. The dude said the same tires mounted on those rims felt far more supple, seemed to roll just as easily, cornered very nicely, etc. Pretty simple, but interesting.

They like us, they really like us!
My band's show from last Sunday is actually in the NOW's "Shows that rocked Toronto last week". Of course, they mostly drool over The Torrent, but with kind words for us too. hehehe.
Too bad all you ****ers stayed at home!
(not sure about the 'garage rock' description in the review, but whatevs)
