What are you going to stick in the many many unused flange holes? Is there even a symmetric lacing for this pair? Are you also doing this for the 12-spoke front? This is for road? I'm so confused.. all this to save 50-100g over open pros?

Get a twine that's not too fuzzy. Tape where you don't want shellac to go. I'd recommend thinning the shellac 1:1 with alcohol for the first coat, then up to 2 or 3:1 (shellac:alcohol) for the final coat. I've used it unthinned before and it took forever to dry and didn't turn out that well.

Anyone know the guy who rides a white Poprad (avec barcons), currently set up w/ front and rear racks? I rode part of the way home next to him tonight - really nice bike.

No, but it's not a huge deal. It's my 'pooter at UofT so I may take some more drastic actions if I need to.

Sorry I forgot to reply to your reply-post, but didn't have much else to suggest.. except that maybe you should avoid clicking on future links involving pairs of girls and potential drinking vessels

what's wrong with rivendell "style"? i find most of their advice quite practical and useful but i draw the line and wearing tevas while riding and putting a kickstand on a $3000 bike. |

Wow, very cool. Good luck with it, save up for an R3, what a sweet ride.

Nice, dude! Congrats! That's just down the street from my house... I always used to ride by there and see the Easton boxes in the window and wonder what was in there... Is it just me or do the seat stays look really weird on that R3? |
Congrats Dan!
... but what the hell, leavin' us all hanging as to what the job is - spill it! |

That could be complete hogwash but they do look really really thin, so thin as to mitigate them useless. |
I'm going to be doing assembly of bikes in the warehouse. Woo! I'd love to have a sweet Carbon Fibre road bike, but I feel like I have to train like a mofo first. If I have a bike like that I want to be able to lay some serious smackdown, not just loaf over to the coffee shop!
|
"From Wednesday Morning to Wednesday Overnight we expect close to 10cm of snow and 20-25mm of rain. "
|
Nice Dan, congrats!
I hear you on the training... In my experience seeing others on cervelos they either pass you like you're standing still, or you do the same to them (but they don't care 'cause their bottle cages cost more than your bike) I've yet to meet or see an "average" rider like myself riding one. |
