Keith do I need to take the roller off to measure it properly? How accurate a measure is needed? Do I account for the groove?

Just measure the full roller diameter....they are very elastic to allow for front roller adjustment. If they aren't unusually large...most are 3 or 4 inch..then any band/belt will prolly work fine. Are they metal drums or PVC? Any markings pertaining to make or model?

I dug around a bit and potentially have a gently used set for $125 but I will have to take the TTC on Saturday to get them. The TTC. On a Saturday. Not just any Saturday. On the second-last Saturday before Christmas. He wants me there at 4pm.

So, to sum it up, I will be on the subway carrying a heavy (are they heavy?) set of rollers home from Richmond Hill at 4:30pm on the second last Saturday before Christmas.

They are not particularly heavy but can be a bit unwieldy. Folding sets make it a bit easier. TTC shouldn't be a problem.

They come up on CL from time to time - I picked mine (Minoura Action Mag Rollers) up for $100 (with box / unused mag) off Craigslist a short while ago. The guy was even nice enough to deliver them to my office!

Thanks for the advice guys, if I run into any problems on the TTC I will just use Eddie Murphy's old trick---bug out your eyes and advance. That should settle any problems quite easily, unless the other person has seen Raw.

That Pini on CL today looks so so so so sweet and the price isn't too bad if the bike is in good shape.

You need to move the front roller back in the frame so the front wheel axle is perpendicular to the front roller axle. It will be much easier to balance on em if you do this.

So I rode in again from the east end this morning, wind was balls but otherwise great.

My office is having all the Xmas/holiday junk today, breakfast/lunch and all that. I saw someone wandering around with a glass of OJ, so went to go and get one as I was feeling a little rough (cardio-induced sicky feeling).

Pouring my OJ, a girl from the Edit dept. said "want a mimosa?" I glance at the clock... 9:25 and said "**** it, why not!".

So, it's 11 and I'm already around 1/3rd in the bag from champagne (as the OJ ran out long ago). w00t.

TTC from Finch shouldn't be too crazy this weekend, it's hell at rush hour in the week so it can't be worse than that.

Really? That's good to know! I always thought that the front roller was not far forward enough. I'm able to ride them now for around half an hour before my upper body / wrists gets a little sore so I'll try moving it back and see if that helps any... now thinking about it, it makes perfect sense! I'm an idiot.

Just bought a bunch of crap and feeling great about it... heh.

Build Kit V2 + aeroheads from IRO and a wheelset from bicyclewheels.com woo.

I didn't spring for the Chris King, but got the Nitto bullhorns... and I got the Aeroheads for a future build, as I'll use the CXP22s initially for the Rob Roy build (I'm in mass anxiety anticipating the delivery for the frameset).

I want this MF built and ready already, gagging to ride it... I'm kinda edging toward a Mk. V Pro frame too, as it's a super deal and lovely thing, but I wouldn't want to ride it in the off season...

I just tried to do some trackstanding in my office (it's one of those non-work work days) and it sucks dick with a freewheel... pining for the fix. My buddy offered his conversion to me as a loaner (he gave up on mess'ing again already) but he doesn't want it ridden in the ****e (+ no fenders) so screw it.

I had a conversation with a friend the other day about "itis" versus "logy"; I always use "logy" because no one knows what "itis" means and she found the exact opposite, that no one knows what "logy" means but everyone knows what "itis" means.

Uh, in case it wasn't obvious, I am having a slow day today

hahaha.. it's true, it does stem from racist slang.. I actually didn't realize that until years after I first heard the term from some West Indian friends (and more recently on the Chappelle show). It's become so ingrained into my vocab that I can't help but use it.

"Comedian Dave Chappelle, on his program Chappelle's Show, featured a joke advertisement for a sleep aid specifically for black consumers known as "ribs," consisting of pork ribs cooked in barbecue sauce, explaining that it induces a state known as "the itis.""
