I'm pretty sure Shannon's shop is in an alleyway next to the Embassy (~223 Augusta). I think that's where I saw it. Unless that's another bike place.

"Red Arrow bicycles" Talk to Vinnie for Shannon's number. I believe they are getting a team together for 24hr next year. He tried to poach me from the incredible Team Snow! www.teamsnow.ca

Yeah, that's a different place methinks. It's been around since well before Shannon left BoW.

Shannen's new shop is in the alleyway next to Exile (off of Kensington). He uses his celly for the business, I do believe.

There was a little kid and an older gentleman who were both kicking ass during Sunday morning's cross race.. I over heard that they were actually grandfather and grandson. Too awesome. I was just checking out the overall standings and they have the same name.. too funny. I was confused as to why the same name was appearing in both Under 13 and Master 3.

https://www.ontariocycling.org/web_pa...ts/cup7_10.htm

ps. the kid had some sort of mavic wheel out back on his mtb with a carbon hub (CrossMax SLR?). Oh, and a RockShox SID up front. He apparently rode the hill marked "run-up" in the tech guide (which I ran about 1/2 the time) and, according to Ted, was doing no-handed track stands in the parking lot after the race. He looked to be about 8 or 9 years old to me.
pps. Jan Sr. was totally chasing me the entire race. I hope I'm riding like than when I'm in my 60s!

I borrowed a Honeywell air purifier thing from a buddy for my daughter - helps with cat dander and stuff too.. not sure what the exact model is though. I think they're around ~100 at X-Mart / Crappy / Zellers.

If she has carpet and/or a need for a vacuum, perhaps one of those HEPA vacuums could be useful (as an alternative).

Can't fool me....I recognise an IRO box when I see one. I am shuddering at the thought of the crazy colours in that velocity box.
*realizes he hasn't even started Matts wheel yet*

Hahaha - you'll be pleasantly surprised to learn that the only colours in that Velocity box are silver and black.

If you get around to that wheel, lemme know what I owe and I'll grab it from you at Sprints tomorrow night?

EDIT: Does anybody have any hints for safely removing the O-Ring from a King NoThreadset bearing cap??

silver and black deep-vees?...isn't that some kind of blasphemy? Cost will be $32. I will do my best to get it done tomorrow. Shouldn't be an issue.
I admire your restraint in not making a whip cracking noise.
edit: why do you need to remove the o-ring? That needs to be in there or the cap will move about on the steerer. If you do need to get it out, an exacto blade is the only good method I could think of. It may be glued in there.

Nope - all silver IRO/Fusion wheelset. The black is the tires.

Well, the King installation instructions said to remove it when marking the tube for cutting then put it back in when you're putting it all together for real. I'm guessing that I can just do it without removing the O-Ring and that's probably better... I can't believe I even read the instructions - there's a first time for everything, i guess!

If you are gonna try and install it yerself DO NOT press the cups in without the King installation adaptors....I have em here if you need to borrow em. For the record I have never taken out the o-ring for this.

The headset is actually already in the frame and the crown race (baseplate) is installed on the fork - the bearing cap & stem cap are the only parts that aren't already installed... well, those and this little while plastic washer. Where does that go?

I'm assuming that I don't need any adaptors for the parts that aren't already installed, is that correct?

The little plastic washer goes right on top of the bearing cap...before you install any spacers. The only other thing you will need to do is install the "starnut"...you can use the topcap bolt for this but make sure you get it in straight.

Thanks for all the tips!

The starnut was actually installed and I realized once I stacked everything up that I don't need to cut the steerer tube... in fact, I couldn't if I wanted to!

So, I think I need to press the bearing cap another mm and I'll be in business.

Here she is, all hand tightened so no where near ridable but you get the idea... and of course, missing the proper front wheel... *cough* keith *cough*

You had to replace the frame in that mishap you had?
