make sure it's on the right way; there should be a shoulder to the cog that sits toward the inside of the
hub when it's screwed on.

I kinda want to go out and ride in the fluffy snow. I was gonna ride out for a coffee but I figure things are probably closed.

isn't that like telling a book club you want to go to the library?

Well, I held a little hope that by saying that somebody here would say "let's go play in the snow". It's looking a lot messier out there now though, so I'm thinking my warm, dry apartment might be a better choice.

right now i'm missing living in peterborough and being able to walk out my back door through some fields to a tobagganing hill. i'm almost tempted to snatch a kid off of queen street and get them to build a snowsomethingorother in the backyard with me. maybe a stroll through high park will suffice.

let me know when you plan on snatching a kid and i'll call you a lawyer and then come over and help build the fort, which would be awsome.

Did you download the 2-part torrent with the digital scrambling near the bottom of the screen?

haha i was trying to say that in the least creepy way possible.

the back yard is awfully small for fort building, but that would be pretty awesome.

in the meantime, i'm gonna put on my snowpants and heard westward...

Happy New Year, all! Snow looks like a mess, but a fun mess - I'm a bit flu'd up so I'll have to wait for my turn

zip - let me know if you want help with the fort - I love snow (when I'm less achy/fluey, mindyou)

Thanks jer, I think you're totally right - I'd put the sprocket on with the shoulder on the outside, no idea why that didn't seem obvious to me yesterday but bleh Learning is good, mmmkay.

TJ - getting a bike right from France/Italy? Oooof - big time cool stuff

Great photos Wes, that's one crazy doppelganger before I'd read the caption properly I thought "Wes has a Surly?!"

I also scored a $1 preme (loonie in an envelope) and a chocolate cupcake hand-up. Good times! Lots of good fights to be had. I used all I had to catch this one guy, was about 20' behind him and went over the bars in the deep sand on the beach. d'oh! Oh well, I made a really sketchy move and passed him in an off-camber section. Michelin Mud2's ftw!

2) I found a partner in crime for the singlespeed world championships, so it looks like I'll be headed to sunny NorCal at the end of the Summer... yeeee-effing-haw!

now to go collapse into a bath.
Nice job, not easy to get 7th i’m sure.
I was recently told there was a cross race here & i completely missed that one.
Is the sswc mtb or cross?

It's primarily a mtb event, but I'm sure there are probably some ss 'crossers riding too. They have their own event though, too! Now I have an excuse to build up a ss 29'er.

with nothing to do with my now-broken bell sweep, i decided to take it apart to see how things work. in case anyone's interested it's possible to remove the ratcheting headband and straps without any tools, so i took all that stuff out and put it in the metropolis i bought and now it fits much better, even if i probably voided the warranty.
