that is my experience with it anyways

perhaps if the strip is replaced occasionally much as a tire, it wouldnt end up drying out and cracking... it looks lke a fair call, and hey, even if after x amount of time it dries and cracks, its still saved you piles of money in patches and inner tubes, no?

I think we should all stop talking about this before we jinx ourselves. I try to use the f-word as little as possible to avoid that situation. :)

Mike, re: Twin Six order, are you bringing in all sizes of all the women's jerseys? Or doing a more selective order?

Selective order right now ... basically "Hey, Toronto Fixed - what do you guys want?" We'll bring in some general stuff later on in the season, but not too much. My partner, Sara has some of the Twin Six stuff if you're wondering about fit (she normally wears a small). Let me know if you want me to bring something by the shop so you can try it on.

PS. I saw you ride by our apartment the other day (Harbord/Ossington). If you're in the neighbourhood you can also just stop by and borrow something to try on.

I just ghetto-measured my chest (oh boy, I'm really asking for it) using a belt and a ruler and it seems I'm even too small for T6's women's small. I should probably take you up on the trying things on offer, Mike, but I'm not sure I've got time to do it before you want to fill this order. Thoughts?

somnambulant 04-10-08 01:37 PM

You honestly just typed "I just ghetto-measured my chest" in this sausage-party? ;)

I haven't actually compared proper measurements with the stuff on the site, but I've found their jerseys fit quite small, so you might be alright. I have 2 size M jerseys, and they feel more like a size S to me.

Hahaha *BUSTED* ;)

Looks like I'll have to wait 'til Saturday to get to CT for my stuff - fairly excited, need to get it built up already... I'm dreading having to take my eggbeaters off my roadbike - that's going to be an exercise in blood, sweat and tears (just remembering what it took to get my original road clips off there when I first changed the pedals :p)

* remembers grease, grease and maybe some cleaning of the threads... mmhmm.

32flavours 04-10-08 02:29 PM

Booby booby boooo!

Ugh.. I had one of those moments last night. I couldn't get my left-side pedal to unthread. I hate that feeling where you're expecting the thing to let go all of a sudden, causing you to bash your teeth/forehead/knuckles/balls/knees/etc on something hurty. Ugh. I never did wind up getting it undone, I totally wussed out. I had no problem at all on the right pedal however. I wonder if it's from all the extra work the left-pedal gets in a cyclocross race with all the dismounts where you're rolling along with all your weight on one pedal (which is the left one for me).

Flimflam 04-10-08 04:00 PM

Yeah, working that close to the old pointy-pointy chainring is always fun when using massive amounts of force hehe - that and I triple-check the thread rotation because I'm always scared of stripping/cross-threading heh...

haha I was just getting my eggbeaters off last night and my top tube gave me a nosebleed :(
I need to invest in a bike stand someday.

Oh and I just want to say, kryptonite and crank bros have awesome customer service, both were super happy and willing to send small parts :) I'm a happy customer!

The way I always remember it is if your pedal was a front wheel, it always tightens as if you were moving forward. I have a short pedal wrench, which really suxors, but I can generally get my pedals off by positioning my pedal so I can step on the wrench to turn it.

**** you!

If removing pedals from a multi-chainring bike, shift the chain onto the large ring so if you slip you get the chain instead of chainring. Still hurts but far less so than the ring.

TRaffic Jammer 04-10-08 05:43 PM

Luckily, with swapping pedals back and forth between bikes I can switch mine around with an allen key.
Oh oh sounds like Rob has some spring fever!!!

jeremywhitehorn 04-11-08 12:42 AM

it took a while of getting used to taking pedals on and off but now i remember it as when i'm looking down on the pedals from the saddle, they tighten by rotating towards the front and loosed by rotating towards the back...someone should think up a rhyme for this scenario.

i so badly want to make a ghetto-chest-measuring joke but i'm at a loss for words...

LH pedal LH thread. RH pedal RH thread.
And whatever rhymes with eloquent.

somnambulant 04-11-08 05:13 AM

I always think "Right is right. Left is wrong." :P As in, the right pedal threads in and out like everything else ("righty tighty, lefty loosey"), the left one is the opposite.
