Almost, seems I ordered a silver headset with the frame and wheels. It wasn't planned as an all black bike, but the stem, seatpost, saddle, and crank are black as well.

well, Owen at Sweet Pete's gave me a hook up on a front Dura Ace LF 36H track hub for $60 this afternoon, so I'm gonna take a crack at building my own wheel... Need to decide what rim to use, tho. The rear is a DRC, though I was really impressed by the Open Pro I just got on my road bike.

Any shops in the city still have Mavic MA3s? They ought to be cheaper than open pros, but are welded...

Took the capo out for about 35km tonight. It seems like the chain is getting quieter... It really only chatters when I hammer out of the saddle (or in) right now... currently using white lightening for lube - maybe a liquid lube would make it quiet down some more?

To be honest, I've never been a fan of wax based lubes, although I am giving Pedro's Ice Lube a try. I have had best luck with the Finish Line dry lube with teflon. It seems to last longer if I neglect my chain, as well as running smoothly when applied fresh. Things do get dirty though. The wax based lubes are designed to be applied every ride, and I found that the White Lightning built up big dirty chunks of wax that would fall off at inopportune moments. That's what it does, though, to keep your chain clean. Time will tell if Pedro's does that or not, or whether more frequent applications and wipes will help.
I like Phil products, but for heaven's sake, don't use Phil Tenacious Oil on your chain. It gets thrown off in warm conditions in sticky strings all over everything.

the miele is murdering my back. I have some fiddling to do, but I have a suspicion that long cannondale stem is the culprit. anyone have a short threadless stem, 5-10 degree drop? have random bits and bobs to trade, including a longer cannondale stem. and since im broke, any unused cross levers from fixed conversions can come too. I had so many bar positions on the fixed, i have to put brakes all over this **** like christmas ornaments to come near that freedom.

i like the speed skaters on the board walk, the dudes in the spandex and the big wheeled blades... i saw like 3 of them drafting the other day, it was really funny.... for some reason i had a huge urge to toss a stick in front of them. Sadly i couldnt find a stick.

I need pretty short, probably 70-80ish? I like to be curled a little more when im in the drops, I feel I get a little more control at the peak of my stroke that way, and it seems to be easier on my back than the half-stretch I have going on at the moment =|.

and those bladers remind me too much of middle-aged carbon riders, with the spandex uniforms and oakleys and everything? total stickbait.

i also LOL'd at a guy who blared past me on a bike so badly maintained i could hear it from meters away and then used a SQUEAKY TOY to signal to a little kid ahead of him... only to pull off seconds later into a parking lot to put his bike in his car.

the speed skaters aren't so bad because they generally travel in a straight, predictable line. it's the twits on a date and all showing off for each other spinning around without notice that i hate. it is a multi-use path after all.

^^ I just love the gooney costumes, they make you soooooooo fast on rollerblades, you can like, zooom.

Families of eighteen, skaters on a date, and pairs of canadiantirebikes that take up the entire MUP, and when you excuse yourself they get scared and clamp up and it takes forever to get by them. These are the people I buzz by millimeters every chance I get. Cuz I have anger issues sometimes.

Rob/Dan - I'm up for the donut, tell me when - am I allowed to ride my fixed? j/k I need to get out on the roadie.

If a road caliper isn't releasing/opening back up properly - should I just take it apart and clean/rebuild or could it be something else? Could improper cable tension/length be a cause? My back brake is hosed on my roadbike in this way - still works, just doesn't release properly off the rim on one side after application and I want to get 'er fixed.
