he was a friend of ours and an animated fixture here (not to mention nemesis of cabbies everywhere) on the BFSSFGTO since it's inception - long story short, he was struck and killed last year near calgary while out on an epic bike tour from the northwestern US to toronto. this was last year this time; after he passed away there was a memorial ride organized for him and his family by some of the guys here.

search for some of his posts - you will be entertained.

Well that was a pretty nice ride. Caught flimflam along Queen E, giving a tow to some guy on rollerblades, then rode all the way out to Rouge Hill & back. 75km round trip. Kingston rd is really very nicely paved after Birchmount, but watch out, because between Victoria Park & Birchmount, the road looks like it hasn't been paved in 15+ years...

Oddly, there were more than a few cyclists around Kingston & Lawrence, some riding real high end rigs - Look, etc...

Thanks so much to all of you who've volunteered to help me out with my research (especially without confirming that I'm not doing some sort of crazy electroshock torture thing first!). I'm not sure if I'll need all of you, but I have certain exclusion criteria (i.e. musicianship) and am usually only in the lab during work hours, so I'll do first come first serve based on those factors. I'll get back to all of you in the next week or two. Woo.

Darn, all those years learning 'Stairway to Heaven' come back to haunt me. Now I can't be in a study, and I suck at guitar.

I'm currently in the upper Ottawa Valley visiting family for a few days. I went for a cool flight in a friend's plane last night before getting ripping drunk at a great outdoor concert. I've found I can do a lap of the town on my track bike (~10km) without having to deal with a single car most of the time. Pure heaven. I even took a blast down some bad dirt logging roads today - kind of a challenge at speed on a fixed gear.

How was the donut? Sorry I flopped on it but booze/incidental happenings/booze happens.

I'm definitely in for the Charlie ride, keep us posted.

If the itunes files are bought through the itunes music store with DRM, then you have to strip the DRM using some software - jhymn, I think. Otherwise, you can simply point Windows Media Player (assuming version 11) to listen to folders, like the itunes music folder. Now, if you don't let itunes sort your music under its own directory, then you would have to point media player to the folders where you do store your music: C:\music, for example.
