KHS flite 100 with upgraded cranks and wheels (miche cranks and hubs on ambrosio rims and a couple extra sets of bars) It's a 55cm and he wants ~600 for it.

Sounds nice but alas, too small for me.

The Flite 100 is more comparable to the standard Fuji Track. They are both "entry level" steel track bikes. The Fuji Track Pro is more of a "real" track bike and will be stiffer, lighter maybe even more aero. I've ridden all of the above and the Track Pro is definitely the best bike of the bunch. Having said that, in that price range for an aluminum track bike, you might be able to do even better. This year's model Felt TK2 is pretty sweet for example. It's too bad the Cervelo P2T (aluminum) track frame is no longer being made man that is a nice riding bike!

It's new bike season! Anybody have any shortish friends who'd want a very small Cross-Check?

32flavours 07-31-08 10:46 AM

P.S. I'm going to attempt to home-make one of these

Tips?

P.S. Dan, where are your bike pr0n pics?

I gave them to your Mom

32flavours 07-31-08 10:55 AM

Well that's silly, my mom doesn't know a Supercycle from a Cervelo. Post 'em up, you big wiener.

No you're a wiener! No you!

It's this (medium) ... the bike's seen a lot of use but maybe it'll suit someone's needs.

If you know anyone, spread the word. Selling the Tosca will help finance my IRO (this season's CX bike). I want to do as quick a transition as possible because while the new 'cross bike is out in the ether I'll just have the singlespeed 29er as my only bike (only one bike?!) ...

Flimflam 07-31-08 11:29 AM

Thanks for the info Dan - will confer with his gf as to what she thinks budget wise.

That Tosca looks nice, how would that fare as a light touring setup? I assume those bosses/braze-ons on the back triangle can accomodate a rack?

That bus story has to be the most messed up news story I've ever read, I think. Just ****ing wtf wow... :O

No problem. Yeah there is nothing wrong with the Flite 100 or Fuji Track. The Forest City Velodrome has a whole fleet of Flite 100's as rental bikes. Lots of couriers ride both of those bikes as well. Although, with the Track Pro or TK2 you do get better components as well as a better frame. Basically you get what you pay for I guess.

Ok here it is I finally went outside and snapped a couple of pics. I mean Dom's Mom finally came over and gave them to me:

Hey I got this saddle bag for ~45$ shipped. Not the best saddle fastening system but big enough for day trips. Works better with sidepull brake calipers. Anyways I'm tempted to make a handlebar bag... but I'd need a nice front rack :P

That story on the bus... seriously I felt sick.

About the donut: I'd like to try. Those who have done how was it? I'm slow.

Neat idea, but I think I need something a bit bigger- I'm looking to replace a trunkbag/rack set-up I've got for commuting. I'm going to head down to ye olde Army Surplus and see if they have something I can jimmy-rig with my sewing machine. I'll post results once I get around to actually doing it.
