Speaking of cyclocross, if any of you guys/gals have been dillydallying about checking out a race, this weekend is poised to be a GREAT opportunity to be a spectator. We already have a couple of big name US pro guys (Tim Johnson & Jeremy Powers) confirmed to be coming up for the UCI races, and there may be more as well. Tim is the reigning (and 5-time) US National Cyclocross champion. It isn't often that we get names like that in these parts, although with the Centennial Park races reaching UCI C1 status (one step below a World Cup), it looks like Canadian cyclocross is on the up and up.

So yeah, come on out and cheer on the locals and watch some of the fastest guys in North America duke it out. It's on both Saturday and Sunday.

Mike/Keith both race at 10:00am, and I'll be getting decimated at 3:00pm on Saturday. Sunday I'll just be spectating and drinking beer. Also: there's a licensed beer tent (though I'll likely be doing the BYOB, paper-bag thing ;)).

fits me perfectly but unfortunately a friend needs it more so i put new pedals on it for him, kept the frogs and the shoes and passed it along... dang.

I picked up a Bianchi in 2007 for $75 from CL and did the same thing, took off the pedals, tuned it a bit and gave it to my friend. He loves it and rides it all the time. He even quit smoking, in part due to his new cycling hobby.

I could see buying the rushhour to do as a commuter as done up in the ad, but with the s/s mtb being built now, and possibly turning the khs I got from you into an 8 speed for my wife my supply of excess bike parts will be done. Still mighty tempting at that price to buy one for future use.

I had not been on my bike since Friday and when riding to work today I really enjoyed it. It's amazing what a couple of days off will do for your overall perception of how much fun riding a bike can be.

I don't know, to be honest, but he said that he thought it was a fair price and I told him that it was more than fair considering what people routinely sell bianchis and mieles of that era for on craigslist without all the nicer features his had... he was a wealthy real estate agent living in an amazing loft at boradview and queen... i don't think he was too concerned. :)

I put the pedals on last night and I like them so far - the float and the lack of a distinct 'click' is a little unnerving but I think I'll get used to it... Any opinions on these? Anyone? Bueller?

i hadn't either, but i wish i could say the same. i've been out with a cold, which has left me feeling winded and weak. a shame, because it looks like it's going to be another beautiful day and it would be great to take advantage of it.
