Does anyone know of any shops in the GTA that carry Hincapie Sportswear products? I had a pair of Hincapie wool arm warmers that I loved, but they started to unravel. They went into the washer last night and when I pulled them out one had unraveled almost half it's length and everything was tangled in a mess of stretchy thread. :(

<sings> If you want to destroy my sweater...Woah-ah-woah-ah-woah.
Hold this thread as I walk away... As I walk away. Watch me unravel, I'll soon be naked. Lying on the floor, lying on the floor I've come undone </sings> |

Two pairs of cheap stretchy cotton gloves for a buck at the discount store just north of King on Yogne on the East side.
Just in case you get chilly. |

Just in case you get chilly. Had some crap to deal with this morning so didn't get up to the clients place until around 4, this involved riding through the wind (which I knew about, it was strong as hell but I was prepared for a long slog north - whatever) and also the first snow I've felt since spring - this was a somewhat odd surprise. Yay? Be careful out there, the road was surprisingly slippy in spots despite the light flakes/nothingness that it seems to be. |
First ride in snow tonight (yeah there wasn't any on the ground, but still).
The slippyness scared the hell out of me but I finally got off my butt to get a good cycling jacket and some decent base layer stuff and I'm stoked on how comfy I'm going to be able to make it through this winter... I hope ;) |
Slippery... pfft! :D

Yep, it is as cold as a well-digger's knee out there but I kinda like it, it feels less crowded. And the noise my bike makes as it goes through the leaves is really nice too...

For anyone that's interested, my girlfriend Sandra is having an opening at the Mercer Gallery near Lansdowne and Bloor on Friday; 1286 Bloor Street West, this coming Friday. http://www.mercerunion.org. Contrary to Stephen Harpers views about elaborate funding for the arts, it appears it will be a cash bar :notamused:

Booya, OSAP! Daddy's gonna get some winter cycling boots!

They are a bit pricey...I think about $70 per wheel but they work great.
http://www.mavic.com/mtb/products/br....323944.3.aspx fffuuuuuuck... just getting a new rear wheel would be cheaper thanks though |

Ride up wasn't so harsh in the wind this morning, the forecast gave strongish numbers but wasn't nearly as bad as yesterday - hopefully the tailwind propels me nicely back home :) Been sagging a fair bit the past few days - the wind is definitely taking a toll on me heading up Keele everyday. Still, it's a good workout. Need to get a couple of conewrenches so I can swap over some axle spacers for my new wheel, then I can finally change my chain (and consequently drivetrain components that have worn). 7000km passed yesterday. Must. Learn. HS/BB maintenance. /Soon/ |
Talking of cold weather... I seem to have bad circulation in my hands: even with my BIG ski gloves my fingers didn't hold this morning and it was only 0C. So anybody has suggestions for heated gloves or heating pads?
And Mr. Somnambulant after you talked about the Kogswell I got into it and might order one of their forks for my touring bike to see what's the fuss about this low-trail geometry business :p |
Anyone know where I can score some sheets of thin sign plastic? Not the corplast stuff but thin plastic like, say, a binder cover. Wheel/spoke polo covers a la DIY is the objective.

I just contacted someone on Kijiji for a pretty good deal on a road bike but he is in the UK and wants me to send the money there and then he will ship it via freighter boat because his brother in law has a contact in the union that runs the Toronto Port Authority. This sounds on the up and up, right guys?:thumb::p
