Any place got a 17tooth 1/8th cog and lockring, and a 1/8th chain, and a 1 1/8th headset (in the $50 range, unless someone wants to sell me a king for 100 ;) )... and how much for the chain/lockring/cog?

thanks. i would go an look in stores but im working 9-7 every day this week and then full weekend shifts (craptacular)

Whenever you are down in the Niagara Region give me a shout! There are only a couple of us who ride fixed and I'm always down to meet new people.
Hope you had a good time.

Looks amazing, fellas! Wish I could have made it but believe you me, after Killen's wedding the night before, I wasn't doing much of anything physical the next day. Oh maaaaan.

I bought my headset from urbane, i think it was about $35 for a good cane creek one. They probably have 1/8 parts, as would Cycle Solutions.

Nice, thanks! I actually ended up going up around Orillia after I thought Niagara, ah well.

Wow that looked really fun. If you guys are willing to meet a stranger (well I've briefly met some of you) colour me interested for the next ride.

With friends I biked from Collingwood to Creemore (brewery named after it) and back. The road was great, view was lovely.

That's pretty much how it's worked for everyone here. Dive right in if you want to join in a ride, etc.

jeremywhitehorn 10-20-08 08:53 AM

yup

zippered 10-20-08 09:02 AM

didn't have a chance to say "thanks" for the hookup, tj.

yay for new shorts!

i'd share photos from yesterday too, but i don't want to spoil the surprise (or your lunch)...

TRaffic Jammer 10-20-08 09:10 AM

no worries, hey how did filming go?

Danhalen 10-20-08 09:33 AM

Awesome day yesterday guys! I slept like a baby last night.

zippered 10-20-08 09:36 AM

good and messy... but i'd lost all my body-heat by the end! only one more day of outdoor shots to go. where's my personal assistant and private trailer, damnit? lol

Anyone know where I can get a wheel bag (ideally to carry two wheels) and approx. cost?

Nashbar has singles on for $10 each right now and padded doubles are about $40 + 10% off from PBK.

What an odd coinkidink...this just got posted, dunno if $70 is a good price or not:

http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/yrk/bik/886814057.html

edit: I guess the answer is 'not' ;)

cavit8 10-20-08 05:50 PM

I knew I'd seen that ad on CL, I couldn't find it though...

As it's two bags, it's probably not a hugely bad deal. If you could get him down to $60 it may be worth it.

~Stuart~ 10-20-08 08:02 PM

so i carry a spare tube and a pump, a wrench to get the wheels off, a leatherman for screws and stuff... thats prepared right?

on my way back from pyze's house (i was breaking and entering) my chain breaks. longest walk home ever

Dude... that bike is a death trap. I'm surprised the head tube hasn't split from that mysterious noise yet...

~Stuart~ 10-20-08 09:48 PM

lol, naw thats the other bike...the misfit (one with the creaking) stopped creaking half way down a very rooty decent, when i was playing catch up on some guys on softtails... apparently riding harder fixes problems :D

this is the bike i ruined the last set of cranks on (broke the spider, and twisted the chainring to bits)

jeremywhitehorn 10-20-08 10:09 PM

i think my emergency tool kit was built on the problems that forced my to walk home...nowadays a chain tool and some links are in there...whatever tool you don't have is the one you need - that must be some sort of murphy's law. next time try lowering the seat and pushing with your feet all wright-brothers-velocepide-19th-century-like...

~Stuart~ 10-20-08 11:06 PM

i kinda did, then i started pumping which worked quite well.

question! what would one do if they were putting a 700c wheel on a 26" frame, and wanted a brake?? would they make some cool extendo thingies for Vbrakes? or are there special brakes that might work?, or would one have to tedshred it.

all the polo bike needs is
Fork
tubes
chain
chainring
chainring bolts

jeremywhitehorn 10-21-08 12:28 AM

see if you can fit a standard-reach caliper in the fork hole...

They are a bit pricey...I think about $70 per wheel but they work great.
