That'd be me (krooj/kergin). I'm not sure if $450 is a fair price for a used frameset, but thanks for the heads up. I'll likely tough it out until the really heavy stuff starts to fall in Feb/March. Even then, I'm leaning more towards a Kona JTS.

reading about that accident makes me feel ill.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I can't wait for my film to develop. I'll post the roll up when I get it back. There were a bunch of amazing bails that made for great picture opportunities. I might have to build up my cross frame and give the new years race a go for $hits.

shapelike 11-23-08 10:58 PM

I heard someone yell "Go bike shop guy!" and it was directed at me. I wasn't really in a state to scan the crowd and put a face to the voice but was that someone here who I haven't met in real life yet?

veteran_youth 11-24-08 01:02 AM

Yes, cheers to anyone who came out to cheer today. Having people scream my name all around the course for an hour was a pretty awesome experience!

Cheers to everyone who raced as well. The muddy off camber was ridiculous and I had my fair share of bails.

You guys put on a good event. Nice to see everyone out racing/spectating. Thanks for the hospitality and the fun time! :)

Pro Tip:

When you get meat from the supermarket, save the foam tray it comes on. When the number of trays that you have collected equal the amount of feet you have, then trace each of your feet onto the foam and cut it out. Place this underneath your normal shoe insole and enjoy much toastier feet.

Fixed.

LordFoo 11-24-08 09:10 AM

^^ Not only does it help insulate, but you get the added benefit of increased circulation when you're dropping the dogs that are nipping at your heels. Was I supposed to wash the trays first? ;)

TRaffic Jammer 11-24-08 09:19 AM

Dang, now THAT'S a tip. Good one!!!

somnambulant 11-24-08 12:48 PM

I'd probably just trace my current insole, but I guess tracing your foot works too. ;)

Some new sexiness for the s/s mtb arrived today.

Where can I get a 110bcd s/s specific 34 and 32t chainring, beside MEC which never has them in stock.

I run eNVy rings and I like em http://www.envygear.com/products/chainrings.html I mainly use the EXO but the DH are even nicer. Any shop that deals with Orange Sport can get em. I have a full season on a 34t and it shows very little wear. They don't do a 32t 110...this was a pretty uncommon size for 110..pretty much the smallest you can fit. You might have better luck finding a granny 32 old stock.

If anyone wants a 20" Dell (rebranded Sony Trinitron) CRT monitor to view the Toronto Fixed Thread, give me a shout. Free but pick up only. Also doubles as a space heater!

haven't some of you guys used power grips before? i'd like to try them out this winter with boots and bmx pedals. i'm wondering if it would work with my big feet...

Shapelike did in the past, and Charlie used them, and liked them, as well. Shants in the main forum loves them.

The colder it gets, the more I like that idea.

jeremywhitehorn 11-24-08 10:25 PM

i just bought a nice pair of winter boots so i want to use them as much as possible this winter. i've been riding with them on platforms with success so far but at really high cadences and for climbing hills i'd like a little more security...
