Cool, it helps, did you ride on the ice fixed? I would like to give it a shot but think I would have more control running single-speed.

Here is the set I made last year. I am gonna swap out half the side screws for some a little longer for more cornering grip. approx 750 per tire.

Bikes: 2004 Litespeed Siena, 1996 Litespeed Obed, 1992 Miele (unknown model), 1982 Meile Uno LS.

I was thinking of removing the rows along the right edge of each tire to save weight... but am worried Derek will change the course direction to spite me

My hands hurt just thinking of trying to get that tire on.

I assume there is irony in here somewhere. I ride all last week in the freaking cold, and then get the flu Sunday night. I have to go to work all week due to exams, and have to drive all week, the nicest week all winter. I hate driving to work, seeing all you happy people on bikes. Then tonight, I finally feel up for a ride, 5 minutes in I hit a chunk of ice and my back tube explodes.

I'm calling in sick tomorrow.

I fully encourage this type of behavior. I think it is kinda cheatin' to have em set up for only one direction...keep em guessing I say.

"yes". i guess they're expecting you to throw in the towel if it's the least bit uncomfortable. i ask people the same sort of thing when i hear them talk about going to the gym: "don't you get bored in there?"

Hey here is a cool video. The tour du St-Laurent 1965. I had no idea it even existed... Sorry it's in French, but the narration is minimal, and it has surf music!

When the ice race was held on the Island it was always a figure 8, kinda the inspiration for the HPR. It did indeed make for an entertaining race. We are probably gonna put in an crossover in our race up north.

If I can get some tyres (do I have to spell that "tires" now that I'm a Canadian? ) made up, I'll probably join in on the race, if not I hope to watch as I missed it last year.

Man, the HPR looked unreal. Those pics you just uploaded (or at least were tagged in) look amazing.

I remember seeing it on muchmusic or citytv or something when I was a late teenager living in the 'burbs and wishing I was cooler or better connected or whatever... Just basically wishing I could have been there because it looked like so much fun. I definitely wanted to skate it because I was may more into 4 wheels than 2 at the time.

So a week ago I damaged my wrist. Not broken but as close as possible with out being broken ( all the bones in my right wrist are bruised to the point where movement hurts... A lot, and pressure hurts more)

So I'm riding down bathhurst and this guy rocks past me (not a common occurence, as I average 33.5km/h and only old people live near me). Normally I would have taken chase just to see if I can (holy **** some couriers have destroyed me) but I was feeling happy just cruising so I let him go. 3 blocks later I catch up to this guy, 4 semi sprint blocks later (he was standing up and hammering) the guy was 100m behind me. AND THEN HE FILTERS PAST ME AT THE RED LIGHT!!!!!!!

I laughed, gritted my teeth and beat him off the light.... Then iced my arm at work

I hate stupid people on bikes.

Dang, that is hardcore. I was thinking I could run something like this on my single-speed bike but it has caliper brakes, I think that all those screws like that would really mess them up. Hrmmmmmmm.....

Those are a little too long IMHO. It is a fine balance between length and amount to get the right result. Ideally you want longer on the sides.

My favorite ****bag on two wheels is still the guy that rides his Specialized Epic? CF MTB around the city. Sometimes you see him - rides super-aggressive all the time. Mother****er deserves pump through the spokes.

I believe thats what they call a "Cinzano".

Sigh, sometimes makes me wish I never switch to air cartridges.
