Also a good store! They built me the best wheel I've ever used (Mavic CXP33 on a DA 25th hub) that has never, ever needed retensioning after thousands of training kilometers. It was the older, Asian/Canadian dude who did it and he did a HELL of a job. Would recommend him to anyone.

Yeah, cyclepaths depend on a lot on who's in there. I've found the one around Yonge and Eglinton to be pricey. I prefer sportswap across the street. Just be cautious if you buy stuff from the "summer staff". Some goombah tried to sell me shifter cable as brake cable. Although its sometimes helpful as I did get a bottom bracket faced for free . Lots of the kids know their mtb, quite a few downhillers seem to work there. They also carry Kona (according to Kona's site) as does cycle solutions on Parliament (although Kona doesn't seem to be listed on cycle solutions site -- better call ahead).

Dalwhinnie? Sorry, I'm an Islay man myself. I find Dalwhinnie a bit too Speyside for my tastes. I like 'em peaty and smokey.

[e] BTW, anyone know any stores that sell Konas besides Duke and Cyclepath? I remember hearing something about Cyclepath not being that great either. I could be wrong though. Kona's website only came up w/ 4 dealers w/in 10 miles of downtown and I know there's a lot more bike stores nearby. Maybe Cycle Solutions?
Yea, the parliament and Beaches shop both sell Kona.

What kind of bike are you looking to get?

I am working all day tomorrow at the beaches shop..

and we're open from 10am-8pm

Lots of nice fixies there and beater bikes with big baskets delivering food, you wont see that here!

Here red means stop, just drilled in our head i guess? For the most of us anyway.
Cheers
Yeah, but will I get hassled by the cops if I ride like I'm in Manhattan and treat reds like stop signs and do "rolling" stops? It's drilled into my head to not stop if I don't have to.

Go to Sweet Pete's Cyclepath up on Bloor...just west of Dufferin. Ask to talk to Randall (manager) or Pete (owner) Tell them you are a friend of Keith at the Cavern. They will hook you up.

Coming from Montreal where riding is a complete free for all, I was all weirded out when I first moved here seeing all the riders doing that too. I've since adjusted, though sometimes when I've got a good steam going on it takes everything I've got not to just blow right on through like I used to.

You can/will totally get hassled. Being from out of town could give you an edge, but it's a steep ticket. It's been slightly in-the-press about riders..the scourge of the roads. Heads up and a shoulder check for you know who before cooking reds.

If you do get pulled over, don't beak off. Yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir is the order of the day. I've been let off blowing two reds by being contrite and apologetic. Getting up the nose of Toronto's finest is never a good idea. I've found them almost always ready to cut slack, but getting surley will get you bent over.

Totally polite and contrite can win the walk yes indeed.
That's how I was walked from 2 consecutive red runs.
