I think George winds his watch by celestial positioning rather than the sun.

dude, that's awesome. I'd totally offer to buy it from you and take you bike shopping, but you're going to make a mint on ebay! You could buy and sell my sorry ass!
btw. you might want to say on ebay HOW you have it early because I'm sure a lot of people will be the same as me and think it's BS.

I'd immediately sell that on ebay. $$$$

Speaking of eBay ...
I want to either:
- browse through eBay.com and see items listed in Canadian funds
- browse through eBay.ca and see items posted as "ship to U.S." only.
Does anyone know how to set things up this way? I've seen a lot of auctions billed as only shipping within the U.S. (a simple PM to the seller proves otherwise), but eBay.ca refuses to display them in my searches. eBay.com solves that problem, but then I can't get it to display in Canadian funds which is an entirely new hassle.
Help.

Alright,
For the "browse through eBay.com and see items listed in Canadian funds"
I think if you use www.ebay.ca, it automatically converts all money you see into approx. Canadian value.
If not, you can search for an item and use ctrl + f to find a link called "customize display". (its found in the top right hand corner of the page)
Click on that.
In the new page you have the option to Convert prices to C $.
As for the items "ship to U.S." only, I don't think its possible to pin point those auction.
But..... if you search for an item such as... track bike,
you can scroll down and look to your left column.
and you should see a section labeled "Search Options"
Under there, you can specify that you only want to search for auction in Canada Only.
Hope that kinda helps,
Keith.

Ya, that's how I've got it set up right now. I can see them all listed in CDN funds, but I still can't see any items that are "US-only." It makes sense on paper, but the reality is that a lot of those auctions aren't US-exlusive. I wish I could just go to eBay.com and do the whole "show in CDN funds" thing - that'd be perfect. Oh well, thanks for the tips.

Holy mother. Ya ... bit out of my budget.
*wanders back*
It's like, that's so far out of my budget there's no way I could possibly come up w/ the cash aside from murdering multiple people. Everything in my apartment wouldn't amount to $10 000. Who even buys that frame, anyway? I always found the fact that they list a retail price a bit funny. If you're buying your own $10 000 frame, you're not good enough to be on it. It should just be unlisted and left to massive corporate sponsors to foot the bill for. Anyway ...

Are you sure they're U.S only? I found that most or all auctions are wiling to sell to Canada. Most sellers only list shipping to "u.s only" and do not include canada shipping prices by default (or just laziness).

I'm still half-way through my morning tea, which means I'm still a bit confused in general.
Are we on the same page, operator (I think we are, but I don't know why you phrased it as a question)? That's why I've been asking ... I want to see EVERY auction .. just in CDN funds.

As for the ebay thing.. are you using ebay.com? or ebay.ca? I use ebay.ca and I see every auction converted into CDN.

ugh. why so cold?
I dress appropriately for the commute, but then if I go out at lunch on foot I'm FREEZING. It sucks. I think I need to find something really warm to just leave in the office. Either that or I just can't go out at lunch!
The "one rolled up pantleg" thing is starting to get a little chilly also. I have one of those reflector leg band things from MEC, but I always seem to get the old "chainring tattoo" on my pant leg when I use it.

yeah.. wool is the best. As is Sweden! I spent 3 months there this Spring/Summer, actually.
I need to get some more wool clothes.
I have a really thin toque type thing made by Sugoi that keeps my ears warm. My cycling jacket is a MEC one that's kind of a shell-meets-lightweight-fleece job. Warm enough for these temps without being too warm. I wish it had pit-zips though.
Like I said, I'm quite happy on the road, it's when I get off my bike that I freeze.

Okay, this is a bit of a tangent but it'll apply in the end: I've been wearing argyle socks exclusively for about 12 years now. They're ugly and cheesy and I love them (screw white tube socks man, that ****'s so passe). Sometimes I manage to track down some really long ones and those turn into my fall / winter socks. I just hike them up to my knees and that makes riding w/ rolled up pants totally comfortable.
- eyefloater
Ps. Warm weather: pull the socks down over themselves, to about the point that the sock ends up halfway under the sole of your foot. Behold, the eyefloater ghetto cycling sock technique.
