The Minretts are nice. Normally $120. I'll see if we have any of those.

Kaibot 09-19-06 12:16 AM

I recently got some sweet Avid Juicy Fives for my XC bike, I know there are probably a few of you who will enjoy them.

Aslo, I put on some stunty Dangerboy levers.

It's nice. I like.

Pictures are pretty.

Someone stole my IRO Jamie Roy last night from college and dovercourt area. It's a long shot, but I'd appreciate you guys keeping an eye out for it.
Specs:
White, 60 cm frame
Thomson stem, 48 cm wide nitto drops
beat up flite saddle, ritchey post
IRO highflange hubs, Mavic MA-2 rear, Open sport front
fenders, no name 110 BCD crank, SPD 515 pedals.

TRaffic Jammer 09-19-06 08:55 AM

Son of a...I'll keep eyes peeled and a U-lock in hand. PM a celly, just in case?

Shiznaz 09-19-06 08:58 AM

Oh F*ck man! I really liked that bike alot... I hate hearing stuff like this. I'll keep my eye open and U-lock at hand in case I see it. I'll bet the fenders and pedals are off it already, so I'll just look for a white fixed gear with hugely wide bars. Hell if I see anybody on a white fixed gear I'll chase after them just to make sure.

Thanks guys-I haven't seen another frame like that one around, so it should be easy to spot. I'll take a look at Igor's in the next couple of days-anywhere else? Where do hot bikes end up these days?

eyefloater 09-19-06 09:15 AM

Jacobs - Dundas/St. Andrew

The pawn shop @ Queen/Pape. I see squad cars out front of there almost every week on my way to work.

I'll keep an eye out man, can you PM me your details in case I spot it?

Thanks again, I feel better already. Actually, this one was my fault, I knew it was stupid, but I left the bike locked up with a ****ty cable b/c I forgot my U-lock. I gambled and I lost,-so I can't really get bent out of shape about the whole thing. Anyway, I my cel is 416*899*6599, and I don't care that I just posted it on a public forum.

Now onto more pleasant things....what to replace it with? I'm thinking I want an IRO Rob roy...the SS CX bike-looks like fun. Anyone local deal these...Cavernmech? Other suggestions-has to be roadish, fixed capable, 700c wheels, drop bars, brakes, with room for full fenders and 28c rubber, and able to handle the torture I dish out-I commute 200 km/week year round, and I'm ~200lb.

Cool-I'm pretty sure that's what I'll do, CX bikes are so much fun. I'm considering buying the complete bike this time-any comments on the components? I'm concerned about the wheelset-any idea how it holds up? I usually build my own wheels, but it ends up cheaper to buy the whole thing at once I think. Or should I do what I always do and piece it together?

I don't do whole bikes from IRO. He doesnt offer the complete due to complicated Duty/Tax/Export issues. I have always prefered to go the build myself route if for no other reason than there is always something I want/need to swap out. Since you already build wheels I would consider a frame, fork, H.S. stem, hubs and perhaps cranks from Tony. Everything else you can pick up on the cheap local. The stock wheels are nothing special. You will pay a bit more in the end but get a bike that is more tailor made for yourself. Worth the extra few $ IMHO.

cavernmech 09-19-06 11:01 AM

Add another.....Jacques chrome Bianchi Pista...just stolen downtown. GG spoke card...IRO silver front wheel. ****!
